So after reading all nine pages I’m left wondering when should you, as a matter of good routine maintenance, change the spark plugs and coils?

And as for the guy who was hating on Penske they just won the 24 Hours of Daytona in a Porsche!,
The 2021 owner's manual says 100k.

I would say that's optimal timeframe. I'm in "testing" mode, as I only replaced the right bank when I replaced the cam and rockers. Left side is original.

SELL SELL SELL! I have had similar experiences. The dealers are the worst part of the JEEP. I don't have time for constant trips to the dealer just to be put off or told this is normal for a JEEP. The next problem I have mine is gone. I have to be able to count on my vehicles.

Never. Just replace the axles and transfer case like the OP.

I like threads like this. Thinking they have it all figured when they truly do not. Ignore sage advice and dumping a perfectly good vehicle when they do not understand the data in front of them.

Sage is for burning, not for advice. And what data? All the OP got was a lot of phony experts that couldn't diagnose a vehicle's questionable problem with inconsistent feedback through a virtual community. Asking for help on a web forum is 10x worse than a WebMD diagnosis. Next time someone slips right into ungratefulness, we should just say your truck has ass cancer.

I'm not an SAE-certified mechanic that spent 4 years at UTI and back that up with a mechanical engineering degree from ITT Tech, so why should anyone listen to me? To quote Bobby Lee Swagger: "I'm just a peckerwood who lives in the hills with too many guns."

:LOL::p ^/s, btw

But seriously, it is unfortunate that a common problem could likely be fixed by doing a few simple things that are relatively inexpensive to do. There are many cars that have idiosyncrasies which are well-documented and have many solutions from users.

There used to be a racing forum that was full of people who wanted help, but only if it filled their particular Bucket of Need. Same at the track. And we would help people, because we knew if they ran our exact setup, they're still going to be slower because of lack of talent.

There were so many racers that would come up later and be like, "Yeah, so we tried that, but we left this in, and it was so much slower, so your s**t doesn't work." Ok, thanks for coming out.

Some merit to that. In a nutshell he came in with his mind having it all figured out and it went sideways when others said he did not.

Just his middle finger on the way out the door.

I for one felt I offered some pretty easy stuff to ✔ check and replace.
I think what I have come to realize is a lot of people just think vehicles run forever and they also have zero wish to work on them.

run forever without any maintenance or upkeep needed. we're in the age of "lifetime oil" in transmissions... up to 150k miles. But people don't really remember the fine print.

one "problem" also can have 20 different causes.

Anyone trying to compare Toyota reliability versus Jeep is delusional.
Any modern Jeep versus any Toyota of any year.
And well, bye. Jeep drivers and Harley clowns. One in the same.

I used and abused my 1992 Toyota pickup. Put 215k miles on it, until the three different leaking fluids encouraged me to move on. It had the V6 and the blown head gasket at 65k miles, power brake booster diaphragm failure that was fun, lost count of the times that it was in for A/C service. I still bought another Toyota after that.

I truly hope that the OP enjoys their new truck as much as I enjoy my JTR.

To each his own. Different strokes for different folks. The right tool for the job.

That said, for me, if I had to walk up to that truck and drive it, I'd feel as if another little piece of my soul had died, every time.

The new Tacomas look like hammered dog shit. But congrats.
I think they got too agressive with the body lines.

Like they just kept saying 'one more' and carving it up.

I think the Colorado/Canyon was aiming for a similar design but then pumped the brakes before they got too carried away like Toyota 🤣

Goto harbor freight and buy a good code scanner and know what the codes are yourself. Every guy should have one.

Take it to a well known local mechanic and pay him to diagnose it for you. This has saved me in the past and well worth his $75, $100, $150 fee whatever it is, at least you can goto the dealership or another dealership and show them what was found as evidence of them needing to do something, you then have solid reason to escalate it up the chain.

Sorry to hear brother.... But im the kind who doesn't quit, i'll find out what the problem is.

Every dealership is different. How they are ran is different, etc.
