I never thought about this being an option. My Jeep often sits for weeks at a time. I have three battery tenders and just sold one of the classics. I bought the 10’ cord to plug it in next to the garage where I park it. It’s never not started but I’m sure it’s better for it

I have been using this setup for a long time. Case in point, I just changed the OEM battery on my 2020 JTR. This works for me. Here's the link to the 7-pin plug that I use.

Just wire your trickle charger to the junction box and you are good to go.

When I plug it into the truck, I make sure that the 7-pin plug does not latch when I plug it in. Don't have to worry about ripping it off the wall if I do forget to unplug.

Heard that! I made a little laminated sign that I put on the front of the instrument cluster for when I plug in my block heater. It's worked so far....LOL
I made a loop out of bright orange tape with a snap. Put it around the steering wheel with text "UNPLUG!" written on it. This after the wife 'missed' seeing the card on the dash.

Is there harm or hazard to starting the truck while trickle charging thru the 7pin? Either accidentally or remote start? I assume not but want to confirm rather than blow up my garage

I have three of them and use them often. It’s not good for the charger, but I haven’t cooked one yet. It should be avoided if possible though

Related but unrelated, is there a simple way to make the +12 in the trailer plug ACC switched? Like a simple fuse swap? ( I know some vehicles have that).

I'd like to use it as an ACC trigger for a DC-DC charger on my trailer. If theres no factory way to make it switched I'll run it through a switched relay.
You could get one of those 7-pin adapters that go inline before the factory connector, modify the adapter harness with a relay to disconnect the HOT 12v+ when the ACC is not on with a SPDT switch, that way you can have it ignition switched OR always on for a trailer.

I have a similar setup to others here. NOCO GENIUS10, GC003 X-Connect and Pollak 11-896. Works great.
