If I didn't have a use for it, I'd be happy to help with the 8.4 but this one has to go back in the 2022 model I'm selling.

I've looked at the EVIC sceen and it shows no problems. Start stop works fine when I forget to hit the button, no obvious problems anywhere. I just took the Jeep off the charger and it still won't remote start. I've got to go in to work this morning and will check the door harnesses when i get time. If they look good I'll check the plunger switches under the hood then swap in the newer batteries from the 2022 gasser.
I'm not sure, just spit balling here...In the radio there are some things that can be turned on and off, or adjusted to different settings. Any chance there is something wrong there?

Nevermind, I just checked mine, nothing that should stop remote start from working.

That was a good idea and I checked too but didn't find anything useful.

There were three times remote start did not work for me, or scenarios should I say because when they happened I did try a few times with no luck. First, fuel under a quarter tank and it would not remote start. Once filled up it worked perfect again.

Next was battery problems, remote start stopped working for a while on this one. Everything else seemed normal, although start/stop was less frequent. The batteries seemed fine but I changed the main and deleted the aux anyway. That fixed the remote start immediately. I have since put an aux battery back in as I did not like the suttle changes in the system but that is a different story. Anyway, the old batteries seemed fine but in the end the aux was going bad and it was affecting the main.

Lastly was trouble codes, I would get a code and remote start would work initially but by the time I got to my appointment to remedy the code remote start stopped working. Once repaired it worked again. When the code came back, it stopped working again. In the last three month my diesel went from reliable to in the shop 6 times, but again that is a different story. The point to this one is everytime the code came remote strart stopped working but the problem is emisions related.

I will try clearing the two stored codes on mine later today and see if that changes anything. I was also hoping to get the batteries swapped over today but that may have to wait until tomorrow. Since getting off work, I cleaned out and washed the JTR I'm going to sell. Now I'm taking a short break before starting to remove some things that I want to keep. I truly appreciate all the help with remote start and I know we will get it figured out, but this afternoon I need to work on getting the older one ready to sell.

My 💰is on battery
At this point batteries are the only thing I can think of also. I was still around 3/8 tank of fuel but I filled up today hoping the gauge was just overly sensitive. That didn’t help. It is supposed to be in the high 70s again tomorrow then rain all week so I’m going to pull a couple more things off the other Jeep in the morning. By noon I’m planning to have the batteries moved over or at least be working on it.

Most of y’all know a lot more about this kind of stuff than I do. Out of curiosity I set up Sirius guardian to see if it was able to remote start that way and or is not. Still just get the one horn honk then nothing else. Does that mean anything or does guardian do the exact same thing as the key fob?

IMO go Odyssey 94R. I know nothing on the guardian. I just use my key fob. Only time it's ever not started was when it was sitting for 23 days

Last year I replaced both batteries in the 22. The big one is an Optima h7 so I’ll use it and buy a new small one.

My bet is on the batteries. Mine, even with a brand new battery, will slowly work its way down to where the remote start wont work, but otherwise it starts and runs fine. Put it on the Noco overnight and its fine again. Theres a couple threads regarding remote start not working that I've explained what i think it happening, but basically it comes down to the "smart" battery system not being as smart as it thinks.

I have deleted aux on both my JL and JT. When main batt is going out the remote start won't work,
But as Wes said, I can put the batt on a tender overnight and it will remote start, Sure sign battery is is done.

I just installed an Odyssey 94R today, and did the aux battery delete following this video. No fuse to pull.

Check the driverside hood ajar. Should be 500 ohm when hood open and 1k ohm hood close.
Other than a battery problem, that is a possibility. The driver side was sticking a little but that one jumps up immediately. I'll test it while the batteries are out.

The year old battery in the 2022 gasser is an Optima Yellow group 94R H7 880 CCA. I realize Odyssey batteries are more preferred but I'd rather not spend another $400+ when I've got a good battery still under warranty. Is there a good reason not to put it in the diesel and add a new aux battery or do the aux delete?

That should be plenty good enough for the diesel.

The AUX battery delete is a personal thing.
My opinion is, I'd only delete if I was gonna also delete the start stop (ESS) some way. Even if it's the Tazer route, where it remembers the switch position.
There are a lot of electronics in these Jeeps and that aux battery is there to help protect them during the restart of a ESS event.
I left the aux battery in both of our diesel Jeeps. When it was time for new batteries, I just made sure I used quality batteries.

I do like the method in the video Rusty PW posted. But you still need to do something about the ESS.
