Windshield. Definitely the windshield. Honestly I think about my windshield every single day. I wake up in a cold sweat worrying about my windshield. My wife left me because I wouldn't stop talking about my windshield. If only there were some kind of product, perhaps a film of some sort, that could protect it. If anyone has any ideas please help. It is applied externally and is designed for racing applications so can handle the heat

I watched the videos on it. Doesn't mention anything on heat. It's tear offs. I've used tear offs on my racing helmets before. Doesn't answer the question on how it reacts in the winter with the defrosters on. That's what what i would like to know.

My patience for Jeep service and parts prices.... I'm on the last new purchase with Jeep. Once I can't get parts for it and/or fix it myself.. Scrap yard. And we all know the diesel parts will get more difficult to get and infinitely more expensive as that problem gets worse.

I just replaced mine as well. A busy and I were taking about back in the day you would get a chip and it would stay a chip. Now you get a chip and 3 days later the crack is going from edge to edge. Are the windshields thinner now? Is it a weight thing or a cost thing? The replacement was under $300 for an aftermarket windshield. It also came with a lifetime chip repair warranty. Now I just need to be able to get it there before any chips become cracks.

I've been running windshield defense. It's a 3 layer system. I use ceramic wax to extend the life of each layer. When I installed the windshield defense, I was on my 3rd windshield. Works great except for a 3 inch rock on the Dalton highway. I had multiple hits and the wd did it's job. It does scratch easy. The wax goes a long ways

Two other things. The locker sensor in the rear diff. Got the service locker warning light. The dealer was giving me a run around. They wouldn't acknowledge it unless they saw the light on. Gave up and just used one of those by-pass pigtails, works fine now. I really didn't want them messing with my diff anyway. O and the second battery under the fuse box. Just deleted it. No problems since.

This is a great question and something a lot of people ask about especially with our harsh winters.

Since tear-offs are external and meant to be replaced, they’re generally not built around long-term use or repeated defroster cycles.

The more permanent film options are typically designed for everyday driving, including temperature swings and defroster use.

Right? Can you use your ice scraper on it?
That's another great question.

With tear-offs being designed to be removed and replaced, I'd be cautious about scraping and treating them like a normal windshield surface long-term.

The more permanent film options that are built to handle everyday use like scraping, temperature swings, and defrosters.
