The Grand Cherokee now comes with the Hurricane 2.0L, 324HP/332TQ on certain trim levels. This is not the same 2.0L that is available in the Wrangler. So there are other engines in the catalog. With all the auto companies that Stellantis owns, I don't understand why "someone" out there doesn't have a powerful 4 or 6 cylinder turbo that "might" make some of us happy. They did it with the Italian 3.0 diesel, and who knows what else is available for an off the shelf engine.
Now that I think about it, maybe it's because many of the more powerful engines are diesels that are sold in Europe and not here.
I could only guess.
I'm sure the same old reasons will come up - that they can't properly cool the turbo motor in the Gladiator and maintain SAE tow ratings, etc with the narrow and short nose on the Gladiator or whatever.
I guess the only reason the Colorado/Canyon can be rated for the same 7700 pounds with a 2.7L turbo is a better cooling package?
Who knows.
Ad nauseum. lol.
