I got an update once, performed by a dealer tech. They bricked the radio requiring a new one. Oh did I say new? I meant to say new to me radio. It was in another customers Jeep. He got a new one and I got his old one because his new one didn't fix his issue. They assumed his old one was good, so I got it along with all his information, including his xm subscription. That was fun trying to remove his subscription and add mine. I never saw another update again.​

I may have been updated last night. Radio lost buttons and screen image moves around like an old screensaver. Tried holding power button down 10 seconds for reboot. It didn’t fix it. Any ideas what to do?

Mine is doing this exact same thing. Rebooting by holding the button doesn’t work but turning off the vehicle and letting the electronics fully power down brings it back. I tried doing a factory reset and it didn’t fix it, actually made it worse as now Dashboard, Adventure guides, off-road pages, Alexa are all now missing. This software is absolute garbage and no way to roll back or go to a website to download a fresh copy, everything is OTA. @JeepCares

Well, I talked to uconnect customer support at lunch and after reset then factory reset, I ended up losing more of the apps (car play, Alexa, front and rear cameras, dashboard tab under vehicle) and they recommended I went to the dealer. I played a bit more after hanging up, reset again, reconnected the system to WiFi and Bluetooth with phone, tried to reactivate services. Lo and behold it all came back as well as the adventure guide widget/ app. Can’t see off-road gps yet but that may be me.

How did you reactivate your services ? I am having the same thing happen ?

@aceinfinity - I didn’t do anything, after a couple of days or so they all came back. Sounds weird I know but I’ve read that happened with others too.

I’d try another full reset and think about taking it to the dealer if still nothing after a few days. I seem to recall I was obsessed with resets and WiFi connectivity and just when I had given up, they appeared

Not sure if this is where I ghoul put this, but I have a few annoying things happening with my UConnect. I have a Tazer and bypassed my aux battery which I was hoping would fix these things, but didn't.

1. Black screen when in reverse, but lines work. Happens often.
2. Volume stuck on satellite after if says searching. Usually happens in tunnels or at Zion NP.
3. Channels randomly start scrolling. Happened a handful of times.
4. The weirdest problem is a blurry backup camera when it's warm outside. When it's cooler or cold it is much clearer.

Does anyone have any thoughts??

Hard to say because I was on 37's on Day two of ownership. Bought a Tazer the next week. I guess I could unmarry it and see if that helps.

Unmarry it is what I would suggest also and go from there.

Whenever I see threads of people have all of sudden weird unexplained electronics and software issues and they mention a Tazer, it is worth a look at.

I hate to unmarry it and drive like that for any length of time. Could I unmarry and then immediately remarry? Having the 3 honk off is the best part of the Tazer IMO.

Unmarry it, do a firmware update, and then remarry it. See if that helps any.
