Driving has gotten significantly more hazardous since most of us were kids learning to drive.
No it isn't, more media coverage. Nationally fatality's have significantly decreased percentage wise

Yeah, I get it. My first vehicle was a Suzuki Samurai. ABS? No. Traction Control? No. Power Steering? Haha. No. And I'd still love to have that little Samurai back in my garage.

I guess my parents didn't like me being they let me buy a big block 65 convertible corvette 6 months before I turned 17 . Wish I still had it but....

my oldest is 17 (NH license at 16) he doesn't even like to drive. His car of choice gray 4 door Camry hates. He will not drive my JT, 96 Suburban with 7.4 or my 86 Samurai . It hurts inside a little, I feel like Sheriff in "Smokey and the Bandit"
At least my 14 year old is bombing around the yard in his gas jeep go cart and has his eyes on my 80' Capri (he can keep licking the window)

My niece's boy is 19. Just got his license. He doesn't like to drive either. And he's not the only that I know of that doesn't want to drive.

My son who just turned 18 got his 2018 wrangler at 17. We've already started lightly building it up.
Added LEDs, lift, wheels, tires,etc.

Try to make time to work on it together. We even wheel together from time to time.

I really don't understand today's youth (even though I have a 22 year old son and almost 19 year old daughter). My kids wanted to drive right away, but they have so many friends that want nothing to do with getting a license or driving. One of my daughter's 19 year old best friend still hasn't complete section 2 of drivers training. She's just happy for my daughter and her parents to drive her around. And she's 2 hours from home in college and can't come home on weekends unless somebody comes to get her.

When we turned 16 in the early 80's, you couldn't wait to get your license as it was a right of passage to freedom and independence.

Strange indeed!

I turned 16 in 1972. Got my permit on my birthday. 30 days later. I had my driver's license and motorcycle license. All my friends got they license when they turned 16. It was a milestone in high school to get your license.

Strange.

I did every step as soon as I could, nearly to the day. I was literally getting my permit on my 15th birthday, did the next license on my 16th birthday, etc.

I was ready to ROLL 😂
