Did you use the free oil changes? Those kids working in the oil change bay are training to be a tech. Turns out, they create work for the experienced guys down the road.My May of 22 built blew oil all over at 18,000 miles.
Iāve considered doing my own as it seems it canāt get much easier on a Jeep. Knowing the does and dontās is the keyDid you use the free oil changes? Those kids working in the oil change bay are training to be a tech. Turns out, they create work for the experienced guys down the road.
If the filter is changed correctly, there's a good chance you will avoid having issues. Correctly isn't really appropriate. When installing the cap, be sure to wipe it clean and lube the new o-ring.
I do not use the torque specifications to secure the filter cap. Just turn until it stops. You can feel it when it bottoms out. Jethro is not your friend who you would want to do your oil change.
Unfortunately, when the Jiffy lubes and dealerships cause the damage, it is really hard for anyone to prove that they did it.
Replacing the oil cooler appears to be quite complicated, disassembling part of the top of the engine to access it. Shop recommended all aluminum replacement mfg by Doorman. Thanks.Iāve considered doing my own as it seems it canāt get much easier on a Jeep. Knowing the does and dontās is the key
It looks fairly complex, but in practice it really isn't if you are mechanically inclined. Is it worth doing in advance of problems? $1400 quoted. It looks fairly complex, but in practice it really isn't if you are mechanically inclined. Honestly, getting down to it is relatively easy.
Actually removing the oil cooler once you access is harder with all the hoses and sensors attached to it.
I replaced mine at 80k as a preventive maintenance measure when I also did my spark plugs.Be helpful to hear back about problems (leaks, cracks, etc) in the stock plastic oil cooler assembly for 2022 and newer 3.6L Pentastar engines.
100 percent agree.Did you use the free oil changes? Those kids working in the oil change bay are training to be a tech. Turns out, they create work for the experienced guys down the road.

In my opinion, no. I'm a big fan of preventive maintenance like fluid changes, etc - but I'm not a huge fan of replacing parts that aren't broken. Is it worth doing in advance of problems? $1400 quoted.
How do you know they are fine? Iām guessing out if 8 changes, itās been put on too tight 4 times. No one but the dealer has done any of the 8 oil changes I've had on my 23 at 75,000 miles.
My oil cooler is fine, as are my camshafts.
