This is very cool, and simple... I personally want a larger tent... but I like the structure. How it opens on each side to expose the bed of the truck.

Larger ? Guess your talking one of the Folding type - but this one has an interior length of 90" ! and as video shows access is similar to the Ursa Minor -- up & in from inside the bed, or via an outside ladder !

Jeep Gladiator Tops! Canopy / covers / toppers / racks possibilities for Gladiator - Show me! JeepGladiatorForum-11-Jeep-gladiatorfastback-jpg
Would you be able to Chang ether color of this one to the white?

I want a white one, and love the fastback look. Not sure how they’d look together though.

Thanks!

The more I think about it the more I like it as a 2 section hardtop. I do agree with also wanting extra height for bicycles and cargo. I want the functionality of a utility truck without making it look like a work truck. Being able to carry full sheets of plywood on the roof or 12' lumber for projects. I would also like to make it like a roof top deck for camping or throwing a couple chairs up there. I also don't want an exoskeleton I want it to look sleek without bulky supports. I would want the supports to the inside of the cab this way they could be used to attach internal racks. I also like the idea that its open to the cabin so if I am traveling with my pets its fully accessible as cabin space and could be made for third row seating or troupe seating. I think with this design this hits all my requests. As a 2 piece the rear cab could be lifted off and a close out section could be made to easily bring it back to a pickup. The rack could be integrated as well into 3 pieces so the back half could come off and a close out section for the rack be integrated as well.

This continues to be my favorite.
Someone out there... make this, and give us options for windows or no windows, and even how it might open. I think I like the windows on the back, but I might prefer a more commercial lifting hatch with some storage behind it.

EDiT: and do give Bobs85Reny credit for this design!! He should get a share of profits.

For me, the great thing about the OP’s renderings is that he’s got Fuel’s Beast wheels on them. I’ve got those wheels on my JLU and I was wondering if I should keep them. Now I know they’ll look great.

Also, probably due to these pics, I’m not ordering the soft top. I want to see what the aftermarket does.

You do wonder about any "integrity" issues perhaps, but it is nice to be able to do "ONE STOP SHOPPING," sort of ! It sure saves me a bunch of time & effort ! For instance I found the Go Fast Campers Company of Bozeman, MT. when searching a different subject - in search of outdoor off road events and expos - they were listed as one of the vendors to appear at the RecCon outdoor show in Missoula (July 19-21). I searched them out and found their super cool RTT & Camper shell RTT combo unit ! What I didn't appreciate, upon seeing just a few minutes ago, was that the OP (1st post) seemed to give ME Credit for the simulation of this new product on the JT ! I ASSume the '@Lou3.6' was just because he didn't check out the rest of the posts to learn more; I'm not "scolding" him. In fact, because I'm such a "dimwit" when it comes to doing these download things I usually ask someone here to help in that in any particular post of mine . PS; I have NO affiliation with this or any companies in or out of the jeep / camp / off road universe ! I am Completely Retired (Navy), nothing more or less ! Happy Shopping !

I hope that Can-Back makes a setup for the JT. They're not cheap but with a stainless steel frame, high quality fabric, and the ability to have load bars on top, the features are pretty impressive and the value is good when you think that even a quality fiberglass cap is probably now approaching or exceeding $1K (I haven't bought/ put one on a truck since about 2002 but the prices of the good makes like A.R.E. were getting ferocious even then, and I am sure that they have not become more affordable). Their materials and design looks like it might be something that could be designed and configured to some of Bob85Reny's ideas

https://www.can-back.com/

I sent Can-Back a message (yesterday evening) asking if they will make one for the JT, I have not heard back but if I do hear I will circle back with the info

So I'm old... been there and done that kind of guy. I've actually owned several of these. Chevy Blazer Chalet, also badged as a GMC Jimmy under another name. They were a really cool camper that replaced the removable hardtop on the 1976 Chevy Blazer... same body till like 1990.
This is what I am hoping someone recreates for the Overland Jeep Gladiator. The top actually raised another 12" roughly for interior moveability.

I just want this rack for a RTT. I may make a clone of the Wayout concept when I buy a Gladiator. Already found the RTT and canopy now to see how the aftermarket does for racks.Only thing I'd change is making the rack mount to the bed floor as opposed to the bed rails. I feel like it'd be stronger and more stable that way.

But then you lose interior storage. Also if you wanted you couldn't put a water proof hard cover on the bed to keep things like fridge in the bed.
