I would have ordered an Overland if I could have gotten it with MaxTow and 4:10gears..
My first thoughts were the same, I don't want the lockers or transfer case from the Rubicon. But I would (and still) want a limited-slip diff in the rear axle. At this point I've pared down the features enough that really the Sport S is really what I want... knowing that I'll upgrade the stuff I see as the weak/undesired parts. Almost everything in the options/packages on this truck has a trade-off for me. I'll hope they do a Willys Wheeler version next year that gets me slightly better... but even then I think the Sport S is the way to go (based on the Willys JL.)

I'm not sure what "higher bumper allowance" means nor do I know which states are "hater states" and why that affects my bumper. Care to elaborate?
I apologize for my very vague statement. Here in PA the they go by gvwr and apparently I was wrong mine is less than 7001 pounds so I fall into the same class as a wrangler so my bumper height cant be higher legally. PA with the bumper height allowances and no tread past the fenders laws are what I referred to as hater state. There doesn't seem to be a lot of enforcement of it if its not outrageous.

Eww, that is way worse than I was expecting. Thanks for clarifying. (c:

To me, the fact that inventories at dealerships are growing combined with the fact that build times are shortening is a sign that prices should decrease. I think the time of year will further contribute to this.

I agree with what was said earlier, I think that the part of the reason we see so many sitting on the dealer lots is they are configured all wrong for what buyers want right now. A Sport S w/o Max Tow but all the safety items just increases the price with a loss of functionality in my opinion. I got lucky and got a great price on an LE so I got everything I wanted but at the same time I was going to order to ensure I got what I wanted. They are pumping them out and eventually the dealers will drop the price on the ones that are hard to sell to move them. I don't think however we will see the MSRP come down at all. Eventually dealers will understand the customer base and what they are ordering. The base price of a JLUR and a JTR is less than $2k off so I don't see a bug change there.

EP pricing and some arm-twisting still beats those deals.

Like the idea of the truck but seriously they are using th Automobility Offer : $1,000 cash back on select 2020 JEEP Gladiator -$1,000..most will not want to spend the upfit $$ to get it...no the lift, winch or any desirable accessories count..

Still not taking into account the market...the wranglers have been in this mode for the last 15 or so years and still no rebates and if you buy an unlimited with the power roof in a Rubicon then you are close to the Glad Rubicons price..

Base price difference on there JLUR and the JTR is like $1,750.00 that's not a big difference in my eye's

All the sports around me have the basic tow and a bunch of junk options. tech package, sirius, radio upgrades, convenience like $4k in options plus $3k 24S but you gonna save $750 by handicapping the towing by almost half. FCA should have just made max towing standard. Who's gonna buy a JT and not want the max towing option, even if they don't tow but "just in case" they end up buying a boat or camper or car trailer

I don't expect MSRP to drop. I do expect dealers to accept less as time goes on. As always, demand will decide.

Volume dealer near me has over 30 in stock ( no max tow Sports and 8 Rubicons). He has been asked to take more because the plant is building at a high demand pace and has not slowed down. He has many more in build and transit status.

MSRP is going up already, I believe. The price of the max tow went from 250 to 350. and I think the LED lights went up 100 dollars?
