This is all the owner manual says - and to some it will be confusing.Of course the carriers are different. The Rubicon gets Tru-Lok lockers front and rear, Sport doesn't.
As far as the discussion about what is and isn't included in the GVWR figures, all of that is explained in the owners manual. No need to scour the internet for it.
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)
The GVWR is the total allowable weight of your vehicle. This
includes driver, passengers, cargo and tongue weight. The
total load must be limited so that you do not exceed the
GVWR. Refer to “Vehicle Loading/Vehicle Certification
Label” in “Starting And Operating” for further information.
Payload
The payload of a vehicle is defined as the allowable load
weight a truck can carry, including the weight of the driver,
all passengers, options and cargo.
That's direct out of the PDF owner manual.
So if the vehicle weighs 4700 pounds and the gross is xxxx, all one has to do is the math and figure the difference. The driver is an add-in and not figured in vehicle weight.
