I just bought it last night but wasted no time getting it nekkid today since it was 61 degrees. I have yet to see a naked JT (or JL for that matter) in the VA Beach area since they became available so I am just gonna say I did it first so the rest of yall in the area are just copies....LOL.

Nice looking rig. Get naked and stay that way as much as posable:like:

I have went like 5 weeks without going naked. I don't mind the temps being low but the salt has to be off the road. It is already eating it from the outside in I don't need it eating it from the inside out:crying:. We hav some rain coming in for the next day or so. If it washes the salt away I will be naked again very soon.

Our weather typically heads toward Ohio according to a friend of my wife....... so be prepared for 40s and a lot of rain if it stays in the sky long enough to get there - unless it all falls on us.
I drove through some really nasty heavy rain tonight and tested the cabin sound, resistance to leaks, wipers, etc. - all fine so far. Didn't go fully deaf from the sound of the pounding rain for 30 minutes, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be the way everyone talked about these.

Good results. What were the problems you ran into?

Hi !

I have a question as I was also looking at this . I want to know why you picked this one over the Rugged Ridge one ? I do find this one aesthetically nice though

My worry is that this one is marginally higher then stock air box and the price is very similar to the Rugged Ridge one with high snorkel .

Nice job on install though :)

Wrapped up a camping trip in Carmel and towed the trailer a couple hours over a couple passes. Noticed that the transmission would not always shift into 8th gear when going down hill. Anyone know if that is normal?

Hell, mine never sees 8th. Only time I got 8th was hauling 1000#+ of wood in the bed, only when going downhill

Did it sense the load and try to control speed? I notice mine seems to know when I'm going down a hill and don't want to gain speed - sort of like the tow mode my other truck had - but more automatic than it was.
Just guessing........

So I decided to go with river raider because it seals up much better then the rugged ridge snorkel and I really went back and forth between the two. I heard that the rugged ridge snorkel was cheap seeming plastic. I also like that the river raider is ready to be plumbed for breather extension for the diffs and transmission. It sounds mean too lol

To make a long story there were alot. The instructions are pretty bad and don't be fooled into thinking you only need to make one hole through the cowl. I also had to re-tap the threads for the airbox since the hardware did not thread at all. Also too which may be overkill I drilled and added a screw to secure the hat which fit tightly originally but Murphy is real !

Seemed like it. Stayed in 5th and maintained around 55 down a long hill with a 4,000lb trailer. Weird thing was it eventually shifted into 6th and even 7th.

This weekend I proved the Jeep Truck was a real truck. Loaded up just about 500 lbs in the bed.

20 - 2X4's 8 ft
6 - 2X4's 12 ft
10 - pieces of metal drywall studs and track - 8ft each
6 - LED can lights and housings
150 ft of wiring
All the supporting miscellaneous things to get my basement finished.

Next run witll be for Drywall and insulation in a few weeks when I get time to it. I suspect I will need to make 2 trips since I need about 22 sheets of drywall and each sheet is 70 lbs.
