Not much today other than I had to get it weighed so I could register it in California. Commercial vehicle requirement. If anyone’s interested, it clocked in at 5260 lbs.

Gladiator wheels are indeed heavier and stronger because they are designed to carry more weight. especially for towing purposes. Furthermore, when jeep mounts tires to these wheels, the wrangler versions come with lower load range tires(same tire style, different load rating).

If you got into a wreck, with a popped tire and or effed up wheel, Jeep could void your vehicle warranty and your insurance can void your policy for using improper parts/equipment for your vehicle. Normally i wouldnt fuss about aftermarket parts having anything to do with accidents and warranties/ins policies- but because we are talking about wheels and tires, the most common way to get into a wreck, I personally would want to make sure i have the correct wheels and tires.

Even if there was a piece of debris that popped your tire on the road and sent you into a significant wreck, jeep and your insurance could and likely would argue that the wreck could have been avoided, or less drastic, if you had used the proper wheels and tires rated for your vehicle.
This all seems incredibly unlikely, especially since my dealer installed them before I even took ownership of the truck. I think I'd have a pretty strong argument if this scenario ever transpires.

That, and I very much doubt I'm going to blow a tire because I have a slightly heavier vehicle on them. It's not like I put some spare sedan wheels on the damn thing.

If I'm ever proven wrong I'll let you know

It's not that expensive. I don't see it hurting adding it to a rig. Where did you pick up the 40mm socket for the pitman arm?
Amazon has them reasonable:
LINK LATER REMOVED, CORRECTED FOR 42mm POST 2629!
I actually made the shop install it as a penance for their gear change fiasco.

Did that yesterday through Northridge 4x4, used a promo code to get 10% off, and have the $100 rebate form ready to go once I receive it next Wednesday.

Started modding today, nothing major but needed to start somewhere and start cheap so the wife understands this is happening but doesn’t get mad and cut me off right away!

1. Rugged Ridge stubby antenna
2. Storage for the wife or passenger
3. Eject Button in cigarette lighter (found on amazon when looking for these other things. I always tell my kids I am going to eject them if they misbehave, they thinks it’s cool!)
4. Door sill guards

go into checkout and apply the discount code... Northridge4x4 has been doing this for years...

Codes I have used “wranglerforum” , “sharktank” , “litebrite”. To name a few.

also recently they had on their main page “president” for a code.

I have personally bought at the local shop in Denver and also online.

Converted from soft top to hard top today. The swap wasn't bad at all.

Also, did my first oil change at 3,326 miles. Fresh Royal Purple 0W-20 and a new mopar filter.

I plan to purchase a hardtop next, so apologies for the interigation that’s about to occur lol did you also purchase the wiring kit, and did you purchase headliner? Did you order through Mopar directly or Through a dealer, how long did it take to arrive? Just trying to prep for when I decide to pull the trigger, but I’ll be waiting till summer is almost over. Lol

Thanks for sharing. That’s just about what my old JKU weighed with winch/plate, front steel skid/2” receiver, steel bumpers, evo protek skids, custom rock rails, Poision Spider rocker protection, poison spider diff covers, hard top, Yeti tie rod, drag link, Bestop drawers and security enclosure, 2.5” lift and 5, 34” Cooper STMaxx tires. The weight on all this stuff adds up quick.
