Here in Oregon we have a little over 100 cases after testing. It's growing at a steady 20-30 a day pace. 4 deaths, I believe all of them have been elderly.

Our governor is on the fence to shutting the state down, however that wouldn't effect me as I'm considered "essential." #eyeroll.

Seems like business as usual as I live in the Capital of Oregon. Just busier grocery stores.

Went out and took my boys for an extended mountain bike trip yesterday. Still people out and about on the trail.

That sucks, hopefully they will figure something out with the pay. As far as the principal at your wife's school, people like him are the reason it's spreading like it is. Our regional manager is mishandling this situation as well. As of this morning the Iredall county cases still stands at 2 which means on Wednesday he had to of known about our 3rd case now, that is if it doesn't update later this morning. My ops manager lives in Iredall and their 2nd case hit on Wednesday, so I am pretty sure that they are ours because two people that tested positive from my work live in Iredall, one in Mooresville, the other Statesville. If this turns out to be so then Our regional manager instead of telling is Wednesday let us finish out the week knowing we had 3 positive cases. I hope for his sakes that it isn't so because a number of our employees are now weighing their options and even going to seek legal advice after my conversation with them over the phone late last night. It's crazy because I feel helpless because of how our distribution center has handled this and people are looking to me for answers that I just don't know the answer to. This thing is getting scary now. Stay safe, do your part, we will all get through this.

Thankfully being in plant maintenance i'll have a job as long the production team is working. My mother-in-law works on the legal side of the medical field and was talking to one of their lawyers who said there's going to be a lot of lawsuits from employees over their employers not taking it serious. Honestly, the best thing to do is just listen weather you agree or not. the ones who don't are claiming it's their right and they don't are, they will be the reason martial law comes about. if they think they're restricted now, they have no idea how bad it can get. Just remember to take care of yourself and your family. That's what important.

My operations manager came back positive as well today. Los like we are headed for a 14 day quarantine. I had direct contact with him over a number of days. Not showing any signs but want to be Smart and safe about it. We will see how the company handles it.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunate it had to happen this way. You are doing it right and hope/wish you stay safe and healthy.

With supplies running low, we braved venturing into town for supplies. We were running low on flour, rice, potatoes, eggs, and canned vegetables. Though the store had supplies, sadly they were out of flour, rice, potatoes, eggs and frozen or canned vegetables. So we came home with this.

I'm taking this whole Covid-19 thing VERY seriously. If my dad gets sick, he'll likely die. All my clients are in the "at risk" age. I've read even if you're a healthy 30 year old, Covid-19 can F*ck up 20% of your lung capactiy permanently. NO THANKS.

I wear a p100 respirator if I go for supplies, here's my process.

• Put respirator on
• slip on "going out insulated crocks from garage" (only used for leaving the house)
• Put purell bottle in left pocket
• put just 1 credit card in left pocket, not wallet
• grab just the keyfob for truck, right pocket
• get in truck
• go to store,
• grab stuff
• go to checkout and use credit card, only use right pinky if need to sign.
• go to truck, purell hands, open tailgate, put stuff in truck.
• purell hands, get into truck
• drive home
• exit truck
• open tailgate, put items into front of garage
• grab clorox wipes, wipe down tailgate handle, driver door handle, door, steering wheel, dash, shifter, ECT.
• wipe down handle of one item, lift up wipe down other 5 sides of object, set down in clean spot, wipe down all objects bought in this manner.
• take out keyfob, credit card, purell bottle and wipe all those down.
• wipe down garage door knob to house, open door slightly.
• take off respirator and wipe that down.
• take off insulated crocks in garage.
• take off shirt, pants, socks inside out, wad up into ball.
• push door open with bare foot, put clothes ball directly into washing machine.
• Yell for wife to open door to bathroom and start the water for shower.
• Take shower
• Resume Quarentine at home and if I get sick......don't know what else I could have done other than being a bunker prepper.

Is my process overboard? ABSOLUTELY, by design. I need to shave my beard for more effective seal of respirator, might do that today. I've had a beard for 10 years now.....

Well as of today I'm on quarantine until Monday. They sent 5 of us Home today and I'm guessing the other two employees left at operations didn't bother to stick around either. Not sure why they were even trying at this point to keep us open. Can't run 18 man operations with just 2 or 3 people, just can't do it. They counted last week as our first week of quarantine. Hopefully no one else ends up sick with it.

I'm sorry, but look it up yourself. CDC says as many as 30,000 people may have died this season alone from FLU. NHTSA says over 30,000 people die annually in car crashes. There is a list of things a mile long that kill more people than COVID-19 has since November world wide.

Until somebody can show me why COVID-19 has only killed 10% as many people as influenza, I refuse to believe that this is worth destroying our economy over. The financial ruin and toll on human lives that is being created by the panic FAR outweighs the danger of the virus itself. Two nights ago, a local man told his family that with his final paycheck, he was going to buy a firearm so he could end this all.

So now we live in dictatorship. The government is telling you if you can go to church or not, if you can shop or not, if you can work for a paycheck or not, if you can go to school or not. Then they say, "but don't worry, WE'LL take care of you." This is the EXACT thing the founders wanted to avoid when they signed the line in 1776. And here we are 244 years later bending over and taking it however the government wants to give it to us. Shame on America.

I realize you do not want this to turn into a political thread, and I agree I'm sick of hearing about politics. But you simply can't talk about COVID-19 without it being political. It's like saying hey guys, let's discuss Jeeps but NO engines, wheels, or tires please! This is not a health crisis. This is another in a long line of scare tactics and self-induced panic and fear. Show me otherwise with numbers and I'll listen. This thing has been going since early winter and hasn't even remotely scratched the surface of what a typical flu season causes.

Not yet but it's coming. I'm not getting into a panic over it or politics over it, but I would not suggest taking it lightly. A guys wife is on a ventilator because of it and she's was healthy before this, 28yrs old. If it hit close to home you would think differently about it. But I get it, if you don't see if happening first hand then it must not be. NC had 31 cases last Monday, over 300 as of a hour ago. No cure for it other than waiting it out and no way to know if there are any long term breathing affects if you get it. 3 people I know have it, one on a ventilator so I'm not going to take it lightly.

We can talk about it without talking about politics. There's another thread for that. This has nothing to do with politics, sure the flu has killed more, but this has just got started. Taking it lightly in the early stages is how more lives are lost. Just how I feel about it. I guess no right or wrong answer for it, I'm not an expert on it or do I want to get into a back and forth over it. Just sharing how it's affecting my life directly.

Look at Italy if you want to understand why we are doing this drastic measure. Yes people die every year from the flu, but the flu's death rate is less than 1% while this virus is 3%, that over 2% difference means the hospital will get over run, like in Italy right now, and our Dr. will have to decide who dies because they don't have respirators for everyone. You are obviously a Trumpster that believes non-expert, non-journalist, talking heads over scientist.

I'll say this, the blame isn't on Trump and he's starting to see the light and act like he has sense. How this is handled will be part of his legacy, but I really prefer to keep politics out of it. At this point neither side are doing enough. It's such a new thing and kind of a shock to most. Like I said in another post, I'm not listening to politicians or the news about this, I'm looking at what's going on directly in my life and this thing is real. But I'm also not crazy and when 600+ are dying daily in another country, it's pretty alarming
