Decided to plastidip the grille today. I was pretty bummed when I found out the sport doesn't come with the removable body-colored trim pieces around the sides of the grille, but a little tape job and plastidip got the look I was after. FYI, I used a 50/50 mix of denatured alcohol and water to clean the grille. I then used electrical tape to mask off the outer trim pieces instead of painters tape since it's easily stretched around the grooves of the grille, and then 5 coats of plastidip (peel the tape as soon as you're done with the last coat otherwise it won't tear clean if it's fully dry). Hopefully it holds up as long as some suggest, but if it doesn't it's only $10 lost.

Did you remove the honeycomb? Looks good. I have the plasti dip. Just working up the courage to actually do it lol.

Tiny, but quite handy thing (for those of us who air down our tires): Added Extreme Outback tire valve caps. The lanyard holds the cap in place while you're airing down and up. No searching for one when you accidentally drop it on the ground. Still have a Genright Genesis dual-battery kit and two Odyssey batteries to install, and four KC LZR lights for the front bumper. I'll need to fabricate up some type of bracket for the lights.

I know the steering stabilizer makes a big difference, but can you tell much of a difference between your stock shocks and the stock Rubicon shocks? The reason I ask is I hate how my overland rides. Way too soft and floaty. I've been told that I would have to go to the aftermarket Fox shocks to see much of a difference in ride because the OEM Rubicon ones are different and softer.

I went from max tow to rubi shocks and they are absolutely softer. I actually kinda like the softer ride, the max tow shocks made for a rough go even on the highway. No idea if they will affect towing or anything, but for daily driving I am happy with the softer ride. My suspicion is that the rubi take offs would be similar to your current shocks, so its probably worth it to spend the few extra bucks and get the fox shocks for the ride your looking for.

Chances are I will end up buying other shocks to sort of bridge the gap a bit. Probably something adjustable since I intend to pull a trailer at some point.

Hmmm, maybe I need max tow shocks. I didn't even think of that....

Yeah, I know a lot of people like that ride, but it rides like my old 65 coupe deville convertible did. Cool in that car, but I like a firmer, more controlled ride in a Jeep. Personal preference.

Yeah...Sunrider was something I was planning on....should be a requirement here in Florida :)

$200 rebate was hard to pass up so pulled the trigger and ordered one.

My first semi expensive mod :)

i also hated the bouncy rear end of the Overland so when i put Rubicon shocks it stopped that bouncy ride for me.

Thanks for the picture. I’m glad to see that the rear rock rails work with a saggy butt. I’m actually looking at getting a set as well.

I don’t get why they do that... once seen... ya can’t unsee, lol.
