You'll never overcome that departure deficiency without a massive amount of work but rubbing the angles, you just need to step up to 37's to overcome the deficiency in breakover. It's only a 2 degree difference between the two and the JTR has the same spec as the JLU Sport.
The departure is really not that big of a deal if you don’t mind the bumper rubbing the dirt/rocks occasionally. It doesn’t limit performance much at all. The breakover Sucks pretty bad. I’ve found that I have to take a different angle than I am used to, but there are advantages climbing ledges as well.

Rusty's. It the best $90 I've spent on this thing, after nearly flattening one side of one of the rear mounts.
Thanks ! Great Tip ! Those control arm skids look perfect. Exactly the place the long wheel base JT might scrape. I just ordered a pair from Rusty's. Any pointers on installing them ?

You can do it without putting the Jeep on a jack or stands. One of the holes on the frame bracket might need to be drilled out A little for the bolt to line up, but they’re pretty easy. A box end wrench with sticky grease might help you hold the farthest nut in place.

Thanks ! I just got my pair in the mail. The welds and quality look fantastic. Can't wait to get them on.

Two years ago I saw a CJ8 Scrambler with 33s do Top of the World no issues and also the pass that goes from Klondike Bluffs (near Miners Loop Trail) to Arches. If those are the trails you are doing, then you should not have any issues with your JT on them with a 2" lift and 35s. p.s. A good spotter helps too ;)

The Scrambler wheelbase is nearly 3 feet shorter than the JT. I had a Scrambler on 35s, and my JT on 37s hangs up on the belly a LOT more. That said, the suspension on the JT is far superior to that of a Scrambler. The Scrambler was known as the “tail dragger”, because the rear overhang would drag. JTs could be called “belly draggers”...

These JTs look like they get more belly scratches than my dog. Nevertheless, I’m still in the market and prob going to pick one up.
