Went to the dealer today to get an oil change.
I told them about the steering issue. He said "Oh that's normal".
I told him there's a TSB on the issue. He kept saying Jeep haven't issue a fix yet and how there are no part. I told him about the board and how a lot of people had that issue fixed.

That service guy is a joke.

That happened to us too; contacted @JeepCares and they helped. They referred me to FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care. Second dealer (recommended by Jeep) ordered the parts and put them in. It took a while. It's an excellent fix.

I am going next Friday for my first visit to a dealer about this. I spoke to the parts guy today and asked if he could pre-order the parts. He’s going to try , but indicated that they have to wait 14 days between part requests. I’m really quite perplexed about this whole thing. 1. Jeep acknowledged there’s a design flaw and have created replacement parts, but haven’t created enough so that the problem remains out in the wild on more vehicles for longer than it needs to be. 2. Jeep service departments seem to be actively trying to deflect customers even when they are compensated for performing this service.

Bacon back when I worked in industry, we had to forecast future expenditures. Then we had to live with the forecast...and going over was job threatening.

Reading the original TSB every JL wrangler and gladiator with the old box should have it replaced. What cost!

Then I suppose they should have designed the steering system better. Whatever they saved going with an aluminum box over iron is being spent now.

Agree....luckily i didnt install my lift and 35s yet before i got the TSB done by Cutter PC. They said it might be a problem so i had to put the upgrades on hold for awhile. Cutter said i was the first in Hawaii to get the TSB but Hopefully they changed their stance on doing the TSB with lift/tire mods especially with all the modded jeeps here in Hawaii.
Good to know, thanks!

Bravo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Alhambra CA.
When I was picking up my JT the same service guy that told me no to the steering TSB was on the phone with a customer and was do rude. I would of fired his ass if he was working for me.
They are the closes dealer to me. But I guess time for a new one.

Got mine done with a 2 inch spacer lift and 34s. No issues with my dealer getting it done.

Overall It does feel better, the wander and neutral play in steering is pretty much gone. Overall I’d say I’m happy I got it done. Wasn’t a huge difference for me, but I’m sure it will be for others!

That’s manufacturing for you. They have an assembly line to keep moving and are not going to have workers twiddling their thumbs when they know service managers are going to deny there is a fix anyway! Engineering changes are a fact of life... sometimes designs just work out better on paper than in the real world.

I almost bought my Gladiator from MacHayk but got a better price with Nyle Naxwell. I’ll post an update the next time I contact Nile’s service department on the status of the replacement parts. Good to know that my post is helping people out!
When I got mine I was looking at the JK. Not intending on buying. The more I looked and compared the two the Gladiator grew on me I saw a prototype about 3 years ago and liked it. Mine was used with only 495 miles on it. So I got a pretty good deal and being the Rubicon package it has almost every thing I wanted except the armrest in the back since the seats were cloth.

I'm calling them every week since they don't have a waiting list they keep up with. I figure by asking every week they will want me to be on their do not call list and they may get me taken care of. It's not too bad until I'm driving 80+ on my weekly trips to Houston.

So I got mine back Thursday and here’s my review after 3 days:

Not as drastic as a change as I thought, however my steering wasn’t horrible like others because of things I did a lot to make it better before the TSB.

But after a long commute on the highway this is where the TSB really shines.... I drove a 40 mile stretch of interstate and never thought once, damn this steering wanders. It tracks straight now and I don’t get fatigue driving it anymore. The steering is fairly tight.

Before I would sometimes not drive the jeep and pick another car because it was a slight hassle to drive because of the steering. That has changed!
