Pizziola29 and I had a good conversation about regearing the EcoD. Even though it has all that addred torque you still should regear when running 37's and 40's.

A lot of guys think because it has extra torque a regear isn't needed.
Yeah, that's what I would have thought. I asked because I thought they were 37s (bad eye), and some people on this forum say that they are running 37s with the 3.6 on Rubicon gears (4.10) with no problems. I had 4.56 gears in my 3.6 Wrangler on 35s, so I think 4.88 would be about right for 37s (with the 3.6). I have no idea about gears for the 3.0, so thanks for your reply!

I have been bouncing back and forth about a regear on my rig. It came with 4.10s. I am running 35s. I have done a fair bit of trans tuning, and I have helped tune other rigs with regears, unfortunately thetrans speeds to not carry over very well when you reset the gear ratio in the software. With that said I roll in 7th alot at 70-75 mph unless it is almost a zero torque situation. Rpm hovers around 2300-2400. I rhink a regear would help get into 8th, but I am also concerned the transmission is holding lower gears to be more robust against the higher torque values the supercharger is throwing out. I havenot been successful in finding this torque governance table so maybe my thinking is all wet, but so far the only way I can stick ot in 8th is with the manual shift mode.

I can attest - I was running 37's on my stock Rubi gearing and it was OK. It wasn't great, it wasn't as good as it SHOULD be.....but it wasn't an issue. That being said, it could be done....just some unwanted shifting on the highway and shitty gas mileage.

Tuning for a supercharged 8-speed Gladiator is proving quite tricky. Do you think a supercharger with the manual transmission would be easier? You could take the 2K you save by not buying the auto, and use that money to buy a new clutch! I'm asking because I'm trying to decide between the 3.6 (with supercharger) and the 3.0 diesel. Pros and cons with each...

After running a supercharged Gladiator .... I wouldn't EVER recommend to anyone personally. I don't think the transmission would play into my deciscion even a little. If you are between a supercharged 3.6 and an EcoDiesel, go with the EcoD!

I have my supercharger working pretty well but I have many hours into tuning my jeep. I think a manual would be super easy to tune. The engine changes I have made are really straight forward and deal with the airflow models. Half the issue is how the airflow model works wirh the torque model from the trans, with a manual that is eliminated. That being said I drove 300 miles last night with my automatic, my tune, and the magnuson. Had it on cruise doing 77 most the time with 800 lbs in the bed, no issues, no avenger light and it stayed in 7th and went in to 8th on down hill grades.

I’ve been running my 6.4L hemi equipped JTR for just over a year now. it has 37’s with the stock 4.10 gears and the only other drivetrain upgrade is the tranny. I think this combination is about perfect. I even towed my ‘64 Corvette from Atlanta to upstate NY about a month ago. Did 65 through the VA mountains in 8th most of the way.

I would be careful about characterizing an engine based on a single platform experience and extrapolating that experience into other platforms. Particular with different tunes, different exhaust and intake configurations, different chassis set ups, and different driver expectations.

I‘m very happy to hear that people are happy with their configuration. Variety is the spice of life and clearly there Is an engine for every appetite.

Well that brings mw to a whole other series of questions I have been contemplating. If I use the hemi trans calibration will it work on my lowly 3.6 8 speed. i imagine it has more tolerant torque settings for 8th. Or better yet can I retrofit the ram trans and transfercase. I get auto 4hi and better trans for my SC

It's got a light performance tune on it. So the squeeze a little more HRSPWR out of it than it would come from factory.

Is that something offered from AMW or did you request that as a one off?

Just heard from my PM and he sent some pictures. Body is back down on the chassis, steering box upgraded and things continue to press forward quickly.

Over the moon with AMW's expertise and attention to detail!!
