Now looking at rear bumpers, was looking at the Rugged Ridge HD, unfortunately you have to remove the OEM sliders. The Fab Fours is catching my eye, but not the price tag ?
Got RR HD bumper love it. Didn't sliders before so was all good for me

How does it drive with this setup? I'm looking to add the same spacers to the mopar lift due to steel bumper, winch, decked bed storage and eventually an RSI smartcap. I have read alot of people adding front lower control arms or relocation brackets to correct caster but is it necessary?
Overall ride quality feels much better, the damping on these allows for much less 'bounce' over multiple sequential bumps in the road. I haven't taken it off road or done an alignment yet, but it does drive straight, no pull under hard breaking. Only thing I've noticed now is the steering wheel is not centered, which will correct with alignment.

Installed the Alpine speaker upgrade for the overhead soundbar. I bought the Alpine SPV-65-JLT from Crutchfield, as it was about $50 cheaper than Amazon, and Crutchfield includes the Metra adapters, which are needed for the JTs (and JLs) that have the premium Alpine audio system. The instructions aren't the best. I've had to watch a couple YouTube videos and looked through forum threads.

Before:

I used the included template and a pick to trace the new pattern. This worked very well for me as a pen, pencil, or marker was harder to see (irregular surfaces). The scribe/pick leaves a good mark to see and feel.

To cut the hole, I tried a jigsaw, but it was much harder to control, especially with the soundbar still installed. Then I tried an electric hot knife, but it produced toxic fumes, and the cuts immediately fused back together (molten plastic). Instructions, YouTubers, and other forum members recommended a reciprocating air saw. Others have also removed the soundbar. I left mine in place and used a box cutter (utility knife) instead. It took a bit more muscle, but it made much less of a mess, and it took about 15-20 minutes per side

The template is not the best. I had to deviate and cut a bit more to avoid some awkward shapes. This is what the removed sections looked like. You can actually remove quite a bit more than what the template calls for. The new speaker's gasket just needs to have a surface to seal.

This is what the hole looks like. Yes, not pretty. If you have OCD (like me), turn away and don't think about how sausages are made.

The new Alpine speaker comes with a crossover. If you have premium audio, like mine, disconnect the wires from the woofer (just move them aside) and attach the Metra adapters.

Connect to the soundbar harness.

The resulting sound is AMAZING! Deeper, fuller bass, crisper highs, and looks great.

Nice!!!

I just finished installing my JLTs. They pair well with Alpine PSS-23WRA power sub system.

Curious if I can also bypass the crossover.

I was installing rear control arms and thought I would do these at the same time - I did not have the patience to finagle those little bolts and nuts into place - they were a pain. I put it all back in the box for another day. Any tips? I figured I would go back at it again when it is the only task at hand.
So you didn’t have a problem changing control arms?
I put these skids on and had a bear of a time getting the control arm bolts back in. Both sides pulled back and the control arm was very difficult to pull forward so the bolt would line up.
The smaller forward/upper bolts on the skid weren’t that hard to deal with. I mean, no matter whether the skid and the smaller bolts were there, it would’ve been just as hard to get the control arm bolt back through. Some people clearly don’t have that hard a time with the control arm.
Some people on here also swear they could get all three bolts to line up without drilling or grinding any holes open, but I definitely could not. I have pictures of lining the skid up and you can see that the holes were off far enough that the bolts wouldn’t line up. Still, there’s no other option out there and they’re stout!

I bought a PWE-S8 (same sub as your system) to supplement the stock sub. Which crossover are you referring to, the one in the 23WRA or factory speakers?

The crossover in the Alpine SPV-65-JLT aftermarket sound bar speaker.

I ask because installing the way Alpine says and what YouTube says, leaves two unused factory plugs just floating around in the sound bar.

Ok, I see. In your case, assuming you don't have the factory Alpine "premium" (not really premium) system, you should use the crossover that comes with the Alpine JLT's. However, do you know if the 23WRA's amp has built in crossovers? If it does, then you may need to bypass (disconnect) the crossovers in the JLT like I did in my set up. In either case, you should be able to test it with and without the crossover. Hope this helps.

Did my first couple major mods. Painted the grille black with that Plastidip stuff I saw in the forums earlier. Installed some RokBlokz mud flaps. Then installed the chase rack (Armordillo CR1 for anyone who is curious) to break up that square back look a bit! Gives me future options to mount lights too. Took off the Rubicon sliders because I have some FabFours sliders on the way and front bumper/winch is next when they show up.

Hi,

I'm from Japan.
Were you able to install the CR-1 on the Gladiator without any modification?

I'm planning to install CR1 as well.
Could you please tell me the detailed part number?

Thanks,
KEN

I had the Fishbone front stubby bumper, Road Armor front fenders, Fishbone rear fenders and DV8 inner fender flares installed.

Any issues with the Mojave skid plate? I really like the looks of this bumper.
