Thanks, I hadn’t seen the full TSB yet.

I spent 2 hours reading this thread after my install and there was no answer at the end.

So I thought I’d help finish it.

Looks like the January build date was on the money.

I had to educate my dealer twice. I printed the TSB and told them to follow it when they installed it. Got it back and they acted like they never heard of the TSB and I had to send it back to get them to do the TSB. Done now but surprised at the blinders they wear sometimes.

I think I have the closest dealer's shop people convinced that sometimes I know what I'm doing LOL. If I get out with paper in my hand, the service writer's hand is out, he takes it and usually one or two other guys come over and read it with them. I then explain my situation, how the TSB will apply, and turn them loose.
When I took my wife's Grand Cherokee (2021) in for a miss - it of course was like a kid on their first day of school and they have a belly ache at home - it's all fine at the doctor's office. That danged thing was smooth as silk as I pulled it in. But I had a multi-page report from AlfaOBD and they looked at it and the service writer put right in there "cylinder 3 misfire" as my report stated. The tech even asked where the heck I got that report, he figured no one but a dealer would be able to get that sort of detail.
With dealers, shops, restaurants, whatever, your experiences will vary - even if it's a chain or franchise. It depends on the PEOPLE and management within - not the sign along the street.
It's all about people.

I asked them to do it when I had my oil change (free jeep waves) last week before I installed it. They acted like they had never heard of such a thing. I gave them the TSB number. He looked it up and said well we can just do that when we install it for you...

Just noticed the XJ thing. My second Jeep was just that, a black Sport, 4.0, automatic. Loved it. The interior was so much like the Comanche I traded for it there was nothing to learn about.
Went from that up to the Grand Cherokees after my wife saw and sat in one of the early GCs. There's a lot of XJs still around in my area. A couple are slightly lifted, a bit larger tires and from the looks of things they see mud action now and then.

Sorry if these are posted somewhere. My search did not turn up anything. I'm looking for Instructions on how to operate my factory brake controller. My dealer used the service bulletin to install the controller today. NO ERRORS SO FAR. I pretty much know how these work but I would think Jeep would have instructions somewhere, but then I also thought it would take less than 14 months to have a factory controller. Thanks in advance.

I think someone posted it here, but I'd have to look for it. However, you should have received a card with the operating instructions on it. It's in the box and the dealer is supposed to give it to you or put it in the glove box.

I was into XJ's big for a long time, last one ended up on 39s with a bunch of tube and custom work. Ended up going to an LJ when the kids came long. It was like the XJ they never built with a frame, removeable tops, doors, etc...

Then the JT came out and I was in love....

My son's initials are MJ...

Here’s some more pictures and zoom of the instructions showing the various LEDs and their meaning from a Facebook post. Most exciting for me is that it illuminates, so it’ll be easier to see at night.

where did you get the manual? Wasn’t in the box with the install instructions.
Also the “manual” button. Does it just ease its way back out? Seems a little odd you can push it and wiggle it back out a little but it’s not so spring loaded. Feels odd that’s all.

Installed mine today. What a pain in the rear. Really mopar could you have made that any more painful?

Hardest part of the knob install was getting the 12v socket out. Now that i know what to do it would be easier 2nd time.

Now the controller box. The mounting.. my back will never be the same. A contortionist would be helpful. There was a plug harness taped to the body inner wall right where the controller goes so that needed to be undone. Getting the upper nut on was a test of patience. Connect the harnesses before putting nuts on. Ask me how i know. The hole for the upper nut needs the Christmas tree plug removed. No good way to get at it some cursing was involved.

Cord from the knob just makes it. The cord to the vehicle harness is ridiculously long.

It's done but my kids may have increased their vocabulary.

Jeep please just make this a factory option.

LOL - sorry, but that sounds exactly like my experience and I'm not new to tearing into dashes, wiring, and standing on my head putting in stereo equipment and such in vehicles.
That one harness is like 3 freakin' feet long and could have been 12". The other, yeah, just makes it. My truck harnesses up there were SO TIGHT I literally had to cut things to get them loose enough out of the way to get the controller in place and the nuts on.
(These trucks must vary a bit as where it says to remove the one clip - mine wasn't there, it was up higher and harder to get to behind other wires. Some comment on how easy it was - I had to pull like hell to get my truck's harness to move enough to get the controller bracket in place and had to cut the harness clip, wasn't able to just pull things out like others were able to.)

I wonder if you didn't run into something similar to what I have - mine has no real good detent feel when you turn the outer knob/dial. It's sort of tight and you have to be an expert safe-cracker to feel the detents. It's like the thing rubs inside itself or something. It should have defined stops at and between the numbers - mine doesn't really. To me the knob feels (and acts) really cheap and poorly made. It will move very easily since there are no detents to really keep it in place, and if it moves and you want to put it back, say, at 5 for a certain trailer, you'll have to watch closely as it won't have any tactile feel when you get to a number.

The knob seems fine the manual button in the venter just feels odd I. How it depresses and is supposed to come back out.
