I picked up my 2021 Glad Rubi back in February and hadn’t done much but put on 11k around the city until last weekend when my wife and I were finally able to take off and get out of the city (Calgary) to enjoy a bit of 4 wheel’n west of Sundry. We went into the public Crown land use area. It was wet and MUDDY and the truck really showed us what it was capable of doing as we put it through the paces with front and rear lockers. I’m not running dedicated mud tires but am using the 34 1/4” KO2 A/T’s.

We went everywhere including ATV trails and got to see how the sway bar release worked and how the 4H and L worked with front and rear lockers and was also able to run rear locker in 4H by first holding down the traction control button for 10 seconds before engaging the rear locker. The truck is amazing in the mud, what an experience. This mud was the stickiest poo I’ve ever been in!

I planned for the worse by taking all my recovery gear, chain saw and floor jack and only needed the chain saw down one of the ATV trails. We definitely see the need to have a dedicated set of mud tires for weekend runs like this.

Wait, is that literally a Stampede I see in your forest? I thought that was just marketing! You have forest horses for real?

Looks like a BLAST!

Wait, say that again? You ran a rubicon with rear lockers only in 4H?

Yup, can engage the rear locker in 4H. Sway bar released, Off Road + engaged, press Traction Control off for 10 seconds until you hear the chime then press your Rear Locker activate button and you’re good to go.

edit- this is for 2021. Can’t say for 2020

I use the rear locker in 2Hi and the swaybar disconnected ALL THE TIME off pavement. Super comfortable and a fun amount of oversteer.

Tazer is a box of super powers for the JTR.

I’m also running 34 1/4” larger tires which works out to 3% conversion to work out. With all that said, the MILAGE swing in a tank of gas can be from 17 - 19mpg in the city and 24-25mpg highway. Those numbers are on nice calm days. I’ve bucked some pretty strong head winds on the highway and seen 15mpg.

Who is your photographer? Those are some wonderful pictures.
My wife and I shared the same camera. It’s the Canon 5DM2, 70-200mm 2.8 lens. I’m driving the massive puddle and she’s driving the narrow trail puddles. 😎
