I'd be all over that TRX too. Freaking nice truck for sure! Congratulations.

I have enjoyed my JT Mojave, but always wanted more power than the 3.6 V6 delivered. For the past two months I have been researching either a Ram TRX or the 392 Rubicon. The price for a 392 Rubicon with the Recon package, and other options I wanted was the same as the price of a TRX with the options I wanted, so it was more a matter of what you got for your money, rather than how much they cost. I had stopped at several dealerships, and the local dealership had the best prices. They would sell either a 392 Rubicon or a TRX for MSRP, instead of adding on a $10,000 to $20,000 market adjustment like some dealers were trying to do.

Today I stopped to look at a red TRX at the local dealership. Red is my least favorite color, so I wasn't particularly interested in that one. But I found out that they had three other TRX's coming in the near future, and one was the Hydro Blue color I wanted, and had all the options I wanted as well. So then we sat down to talk price ...

I had bought my Gladiator from that dealership almost two years ago. They brought me a copy of the original purchase agreement, with the price I paid for it ($53,377), and said "that's what we'll give you for it on trade". The TRX MSRP was $85,790, and MSRP was the best deal I was going to get on a TRX, so I said "done deal". I signed the papers, and left them my Gladiator. When the 2022 TRX shows up I will have a Hydro Blue TRX with the Level 2 Equipment Group, Panoramic Sun Roof, TRX Cabon Fiber Package, Trailer Tow Group, and the Bed Utility Group that includes a spray in bed liner, and a number of other options.

Can't wait for it to get here.

But in the meantime I am without an off road vehicle, except for a UTV. Anyone want to go four wheeling? We'll take your vehicle.

If you're into off roading and you're thinking you're gonna take your TRex truck, have a good time and enjoy the pinstriping the bushes and tree branches will inflict on the sides of your truck. Unless you're running wide open desert washes your TRex is about as good off road as any full size truck (the power won't do anything for you but get you in trouble faster and deeper).

I know for a fact after owning (and loving) 2 Raptors. I ran them in the desert washes and they were/are badass. And I ran them on Jeep trails (there's a reason they're called "Jeep trails") - the trails are made by Jeeps and Jeep sized vehicles - and you'll run one side's tires in the trails and the other side will be running over rocks and branches, etc. ½ your TRex will be blazing ½ a new trail.

If you're seriously into off roading you will miss your Jeep right away and you'll always wish you had a Jeep. If you're really into off roading you will be back in the Jeep forums again. Until then...

I just sold my Polaris Turbo S Razer 1000

and ordered a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon

last Monday to replace the Polaris

Wife does not understand why I need both.

I get it.......

My wife doesn't understand but she sees it as at least knowing what I'm up to and that I am happy.

I think there may be a use for any vehicle. Get what suits you! No need to be mad because someone else sees value in something else. To each his own! And all the haters STFU and move on to enjoying what you enjoy!

Thanks for the replies everyone, both good and bad. I am into offroading, which some of you have questioned. I competed in desert racing off and on for thirty years, in several different motorcycle, ATV, and UTV classes, while also owning Jeeps for that entire time. I no long own dirt bikes, but I do own a number of ATVs and UTVs. I go offroading pretty much every weekend, and have done so for most of the last 45 years. The TRX will be an interesting change, and being an ex-desert racer I think I will enjoy it. I still own several other off road vehicles for the more technical and narrow trails. The TRX will be for exploring the open desert, and should be a fun daily driver.

I started this post thinking people might find it interesting that a 2020 Jeep has the exact same trade in value against a 2022 vehicle, as the Jeep was purchased for, right down to the dollar. No one even mentioned that. Used vehicle prices are crazy right now.

I've enjoyed my time on the Gladiator forum, and have talked to some great people while I've been here. Have fun folks.

If it had more power would you have stuck with it?

I don't quite understand how the Mojave gets "desert runner" cred on 280hp.

Enjoy your new truck. It is surely a beast. Credit is due to FCA for having the guts to build a truck like the TRX. I’m actually shocked by the amount of negative comments posted in here. I guess everyone is a critic, especially when what they are criticizing is intangible for themselves. Enjoy the truck, maybe put one of these bad boys on it.

Don't care worth a crap about mileage. It's a great truck. Not the truck for me, but hell of a truck. Enjoy.

Hey, some of us get it! My wife has a BMW X5 M50i that has 523hp and will NEVER see off road! You can never have too much HP.
I have always liked your user name and at least you can keep it for the TRX forums, Mopar(more power)ToYou!

Awesome truck!! For some reason, I could not bring myself to take that thing off road paying that kind of money. My dealer had a Hydro Blue model on the show room floor when I was trading for my JTR. People were circling that thing like sharks.

Now a 392 Gladiator (please make this happen baby Jesus), I would drive the $%^& out of off road. :CWL:
The gladiator 392 would likely be around 85k too… if not more when it comes out

UMMMMM... Who cares?....... Ok bye!

This is JeepGladiatorForum.com NOT... Hey everybody I decided to buy a different car.com

Go join their forum and tell all of them you got rid of a Gladiator. You might get several responses that just say.... "WHY....?"

leaving-facebook-group-meme.jpeg
your like one of those high school kids who is mad at their friend who chose to play on the basketball team vs football team, and now your all butt hurt over it because you wanted to play football with him, and your not good enough at basketball. Who cares he sold his gladiator is right, I’m sure one day you will sell yours too…

His post is relevant because he sold his gladiator because it’s under powered and he wasn’t satisfied with it. If jeep offered the 392 gladiator he wouldn't have sold it. His feed back is just as relevant than any other thread on this forum.
