Not sure if this is the case with all dealerships but I had cancelled my first order, then placed another. I assumed I forfeited the 1k but was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was rolled into the second order. I placed another 1k. It wasn’t until we were working final numbers that I realized they carried it over since I placed the second order at the same dealership.

Check your dealer, this is the case with Crisswell in MD. Mine was delivered but if it hadn’t, I’d 100% cancel to jump into a 22 purely from a resale value standpoint.

The thing that sucks is that my salesperson says it's done and should be shipping (as of like wed) but jeep chat says it's in the Framing stage of production and I don't get how the information could vary like that. I won't know untill I randomly do or don't get a call soon I guess
Others on the ordering threads have said that the dealers have better info than Jeep chat. Chat told me Wednesday that mine was still being built but Travis at Tri-city said it's complete and in storage awaiting shipping. Not sure why they're not all pulling from the same information.

Affirmative. On a Monday Jeep chat stated mine was in paint. That Wed. my salesman notified me that not only had it arrived, but it was prepped, topped off w/ def & diesel and ready for me to pickup.

For the folks who ordered in June, which trim is everyone getting these emails on?

Only reason why I ask is maybe there is a correlation between trim and build times.

I stopped by the dealer this afternoon. They stated they had not been informed of a prolonged shutdown and that they expected mine in 2-3 weeks despite being in D1 status.

Wonder if this will give production priority to base Sport & Sport S builds....unless the chips affected are part of the standard parts used on all JTs.

Just got the email late yesterday. I will have a conversation with Travis at Tri-City on what my options are at this point. With a VIN already generated, I don't know if I can just cancel the order at this point, but maybe I can...
I just went through the build process. They told me straight up, I dont have to buy it when it comes in...the order fee at the beginning is to keep you invested in following through though, so you might be out whatever you paid for that (500 bucks or so Im guessing, if it was like my exp). So if you wanted to wait, dont let yourself get trapped into a truck youd rather not have.

I'm guessing if you were assigned a vin number they probably would already have a chip for you.
I ordered on Tuesday and inquired to my dealer as to the impact of the chip shortage on my order. He responded with the VON & VIN of the vehicle and that "your vehicle is still firm scheduled for production". Not sure what that means.

its crazy how this stuff is happening, i ordered a JTRD with all the safety stuff on it for the blind spot monitors and this other stuff and there was gonna be a approximate wait of 6 months, could be more or less is what the man told me and he advised me to got a "More basic rubicon without the safety BS" and its been 3 weeks now and my truck will be here in less than 2 weeks,im really surprised but hey i cant complain my truck will be here in about 2 weeks and all i can really say is that im happy either way cause in my current truck i realized i don't even use the BSM either way win win for me less money off msrp and i dont gotta worry about busting a expensive tail light again offroad :like:

This makes me really happy that the local dealer had almost exactly the JT I wanted in stock a few weeks back. It just didn’t have the aux switches or cargo management package which are fairly easy adds minus the lack of an outlet out back. I’m sorry to hear how this has been impacting other soon to be gladiator owners though.

The sports and sport S's have the same chips as the others. The only thing the sports don't have is power windows and locks. Electronically, the Sport S has the same as the other trims. So, doubtful. Maybe manuals, since no TCU, but I doubt that too, since little demand.

I just messaged Jeep support chat and this is what they said. (I ordered July 17th)

Me: "I saw this news and was wondering if my build will be affected? https://www.detroitnews.com/story/b...ge-hits-jeep-gladiator-production/5422071001/"

CS rep: "Thank you, I can see your order is in the scheduling stage, once all of the required parts for your order are accounted for it will be sequenced for production! The Toledo plant will be closed for the week of August second, this will cause a small delay but the overall build time is expected to remain in the normal 7-9 week range"

Doesn't seem as bad as we thought?

Damn… my Mojave was delivered in under three weeks a month ago…
After my Bronco trauma I’m glad I did what I did, when I did?
