I'm not saying you are wrong, BUT, I have a couple grand worth of parts on order through several suppliers and they are ALL feeling the pinch. Waiting on the last 6 items, axle shafts from 2 different suppliers (FR) diff covers, rock rails, etc all from different vendors. Took 2 months to get wheels/tires.
Ended up switching vendor once I saw someone else had stuff in stock. Finally got lift/wheels/tires/gears done. Fingers crossed I get everything before Moab in 2 months.
I don't mind the wait usually but please give me thee courtesy of an email or some type of notice. For example Oracle while delayed a few months on the flush lights, at least they stay in contact with their customers via the forum.

I haven’t personally used headlight revolution but my dad has some of their stuff on his Sierra and they’ve been super helpful including getting it fixed when one of his headlights went dead after a while, they may just be super backed up. On figuring out who is good and bad some of it you learn after enough time in the Jeep community and paying a premium for a better product can definitely be worth it sometimes.

Nope. I work in the non-automobile supply chain. But I'm sure automotive is just the same. The supply struggle is not fake, and is highly frustrating. We have customers pissed off on one end, sales folks pissed off in the middle of everything, and production pissed off on the other side. The worst part is sales folks thinking we can capitalize when our competitors can't make stuff, so they go after their business. But if our competitors can't get the right supplies, why could we? Every time we make one step of progress forward, something important runs out, and we take 5 steps the wrong way. There's no money to be made in limiting supply, so it's doing nothing but killing profits.

Overhead can't be covered if we can't get stuff. This is costing the industry big time. We can't get many supplies, and the few we can get are wanting price increases. But, of course, no customer is willing to pay for that price increase. Logistics is not a fun industry right now. There are no friends to be made, that's for sure.
The problem is everything shut down. Stuff that's planned literally over a year out, and we had to base forecasting on that. Or else we'd have had a warehouse full of stuff that no one would be buying, and therefore no income, and no way to pay for it. So to re-allocate these resources now is taking a while to get the wheels running.

This is a no win situation for everyone.
You must have missed my other post.

edit: I see you saw my other post ?.

Agreed. It’s very frustrating. there are some supply chain issues.

BUT, I do believe that we have suppliers and deeper sub trades that are taking advantage of the situation by using this as their perfect excuse. Just throw the supply chain card for their poor ability to plan properly and schedule deliveries. Then claim they need more money. TRUST ME, it’s happening.

You all have no clue how bad things are right now and its getting worse before it will get better. If the government puts more lockdowns due to virus then there is no telling when things will straighten out.

Man, check out @Northridge4x4 . I've been ordering from them since 2015 and they never failed to deliver. I love them even just ordered some parts the other day from them. The items in stock shipped the next day and I got them in 3 days from the date of order.

The supply chain stuff makes everything a struggle, not just jeep. Buying anything today feels more like a donation to a KickStarter campaign rather than a real order lol.

We can see that in the paper launches of things/cars and taking orders for these things/cars that cannot possibly be fulfilled in a typical period of time.

I heard somewhere online that someone that got their Mustang Mach-e in an accident and it would take 6 months to get a new rear bumper. You would thing a spare one of those would exist somewhere by now. Interesting that 6 month number shared with the injector, seems kinda generic and unsure. My Bronco I thought I was getting this fall could start getting made over a Year(s) from when I expected it. I get that there are shortages.

The biggest part that bothers me is the communication. Like nobody at ford can tell me how many cars need to be built before my Bronco would get a vin, how many months, years it would take. I ordered a jeep instead and was told it would take 4-6 weeks and I'm week 5 and my dealer says it's done, and jeep says it's framing, the internet says that the plant is shutting down, and no idea if it's done, how long it will take to get done, and even if it is done there are not enough drivers to move them so I will randomly get a jeep maybe lol. I wish they could give me an estimated date, and if that changed I wouldn't be mad, I just want constant updates that are based on something rather than covid, people, or material shortages because I wonder if this will just be an excuse to be shitty and unorganized vs actual problems soon enough. I do know that problems do exist in logistics, manufacturing and so on but it seems like companies will take deposits and orders for things they cannot make for the time being.

So how about when you order something the seller claims he has in stock but still doesn’t ship or respond to inquiries? I’m about to cancel a bed rack I ordered that was supposedly already there and just waiting to be shipped. The ship date came and went with no communication from the seller on why. Just more promotional emails trying to sell me more stuff…

Part of the issues is the supply chain and employee problems are not affecting everyone the same. When shopping for new tires recently, I had wait time estimates from "1 hr" to get them in shop to "2 weeks" for the same tire. Some shops then say they couldn't mount them for another 2 weeks while others (discount tire) did it the day they got there.
Communication is key when this stuff happens...discount tire was very proactive about updating me regarding even the smallest changes in wait time. I had to drag the info out of their competitors.
It is strange that some Jeep suppliers can get stuff shipped right away but the same part from someone else is on back order.......Take the Mopar lift kit for example. Some people have it ready for as low as $1200(ish) while other "big name" sellers say its on back order.

Research your dealer before buying a jeep. Research the service department before taking in for repairs. Research aftermarket vendor before buying anything....I hate research.

I hear ya there. Some are better than others, but then some just give a blah blah blah non-answer when you ask for updates. That is frustrating.

Just remember it’s not just component supply that is the problem, workforce supply is also a problem.
I thought it was odd that there was a shortage of truckers to ship my Jeep that just got built. Anybody have any insight on that? It seems that much of the workforce problems are likely going to be more prevelent in environments that pay minimum/low wage. I always assumed truckers get pretty good pay (could be wrong). It doesn't seem like they would have too many cars to move because production is so much more limited when compared to normal? or is it likely they are just moving other cargo etc because it's paying better or something? or something else? I am not sure if from Ohio or Wisconsin they are using rail, I could see how if that is the case maybe there are less trains going less often or something too. Not a logistics expert however. I'd be interested if any truckers/logistics people would know.

Trucker shortage has been going on for a few years. Just worse now. Friend is a salesman for Roadway. I think they are the largest in the US. 3 years ago he was saying they couldn't get truckers. $85,000 a year, 40 hr week, local deliveries only. If you went cross country, pay was higher. They couldn't find people.

Depends on what you are buying. My wife just bought a new JLU, needed Weathertec floor mats, Red Rock side steps, and a hitch. All coming within a week.

I have 4 major complaints/disappointments

1. Once a month I have to send my credit union a very large sum of money or they will literally come steal my Jeep from me. What the hell is up with that crap?

2. This is the first vehicle, including other Jeep’s, that I can’t seem to be able to read the oil dipstick. Currently the dipstick on the 3.0 simultaneously reads empty and overflowing. Iā€˜ve had to fall back to judging it based on how bad the lifters are rattling.

3. My kid, the spawn of my loins, mini me, the little person who I get to download all my weirdness to, would rather play Roblox, than watch Jeep youtube, research mods and tinker with the Jeep all day long. What is wrong with this child?

4. BlueDef is actually clear. Iā€˜m confused.
