It comes with the tow package.
:swear:

man...now Im going to need to take a look at my owners manual...cant say I saw that in there ever before.

UPDATE:
I do not have that feature in my JT. Just checked my user manual and its no where to be found. Must have been an addition to later models since mine was born in May 2019.

I love the Timbren SES kit. Swapped it directly over from my Ram. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the Gladiator is at towing. It honestly feels like any other 1/2 ton truck and I've had a lot of trucks.

I have a 2020 and it was included. So maybe later in 2019 or into 2020.

Here's what I have on mine. Keep in mind that if you've got a lift kit in the rear you'll have to also get bump stop extensions to keep the Timbrens at the point where they can work properly.

Interesting it looks similar to the kit they make for the JT. both kits are 5.5in long.

I currently have the sumo springs and bump stop extensions on mine. I was just curious. Thanks!

I've read all 60+ pages of the "what do you tow" thread and a few others plus the "burned to the ground" thread, have a question;
Would you feel comfortable towing a dual axle camper that weighs 4900 #'s unloaded with a tongue weight of 525#'s giving the obvious of brake controller and sway bars and maybe WD system with a Rubicon? Trying to decide on a camper for the wife and I.
I was just reading that thread an hour ago, I wondered the same…. What weight do people like behind their rigs????
nice going

Take a look in the owner's manual at frontal cross section. I got run out of the wrangler forum on a rail for mentioning it, but the science is unavoidable. For those of us who like to get down in the scientific weeds on everything, Gale Banks has done some really interesting towing tests of various vehicles and trailers and has some eye opening results about trailer weight, horsepower and cross section.
Or you could just ignore the psychics altogether and go with the "zen".
My trailer is pretty small at 32 sq ft cross section and not very heavy at under 2,000 lbs loaded. I just returned from a cross country from Wi to Az and back over Wolf Creek Pass and across Ks with the "headwind of Satan". 5,000 lbs > trailer with a 64 SQ ft cross section? Not for this kid. I struggled to get 11 mpg across the prairie into the wind with my dinky trailer. Can't imagine how it would have been with more than double what I was pulling.

YRMV....
In my experience and with my diesels, gassers in my use have always averaged half the mpg of my diesels. I expect 4-7 towing in a gasser. That same in a diesel gets me 11-13……. But that has been me, in the mountains on slopes loaded to the gills in my HD

I tend to agree with what Brian is saying. Although I am still in the shopping stage and haven't yet picked a trailer. I am looking at the Winnebago Micro Mini, either 1800BH or 2100BH depending on if I want to deal with the slide. They are dual axle, only 22' long and also important, only 7' wide with a GVWR between 5k - 5500 lbs. Seems like a good compromise of features. I wish there was a larger selection of smaller dual-axle trailers but it is pretty limited. Also, I agree, it isn't a race when you are towing. Take it slow and easy.

You can find dual axle trailers with unloaded weights 500 lbs below that - our 24' is 4400 dry. Less now with all the interior cruft we took out, despite the flooring weight. The 7000 lb GVWR is irrelevant, the loaded weight is what matters. We stay under 6000 lb and a 720 lb tongue because there just isn't that much stuff in our world, last trip we were at 5400 before we filled up on 350 lbs of water near our destination.

I've seen 19's with dual axles, pretty sure. The difference in towing a single axle cargo trailer vs double axle convinced me the latter is MUCH preferred.

WDH is a must, and if you get one with sway control built in, even better.

Get everything on a commercial scale and get hard data. There is a big difference between a 10% tongue weight and a 15% tongue weight on your loaded truck and in your loaded trailer.

Towing at speeds over 65 is dangerous, full stop. Trailer tires are speed rated. Complaining about 11 MPG towing is funny, what do people expect? Don't speed, plan your trip, have fun.

VERY happy with the pup. We got the 18TOBL with the off road package and solar panel.

Fits the wife, my 7 and 2 year old, and our two dogs, with room to spare.

I haven’t weighed it but im positive we get close to 5,000lbs by the time food and beer is loaded. To offset all the weight in the front storage we leave a bit of water in the black tank when we travel. Helps keep the tank clean aswell. Sits well on the Jt. We Certainly notice trucks and all on the highway but nothing nearly as dramatic ad people make it seem…either the army had made me numb to being scared (real chance this is true) or its just not as bad as people say with the single axle.

longest trip ive done was from delaware to niagra falls ny, 460ish miles one way. With my heavy tires it was a little sluggish on inclines, but honestly pulled great.

the wdh and air bags make a HUGE difference in pulling, even with a jtmt.

for the price i think ya cant beat the value compared to anything else in the same size and weight.

Thanks I did wonder about air bags. Many of my friends with HD use them too….

I will say that, having never pulled duel axle travel trailer, i dont see all the fuss over duel vs single. I get the science behind it but ive been very pleased with my single axle.

Huge differences. I'd never go back to a single axle trailer. I've towed both single axle and double-axle campers (ok, travel trailers, whatever) and I found it much easier to haul the dual axle trailer behind a lighter vehicle, there was less jounce (even with WDH I felt the difference) I've also had a tire blow on a single axle trailer - that's scary, yet I lost wheel bearings on a dual axle trailer and didn't even notice until I wondered what I was seeing on the right mirror that didn't look quite right. (removed the tire, chained that end of the axle up and got it home)
I found a lot more stable pull with the dual axles. It was smoother, I didn't notice bumps and dips as much. Just me, my tow vehicles, etc. YMMV

Fair. My point is just that towing a single with the Jt isnt as much of a nightmare scenario as people make it sound. If the op is stressing over single v/s double he may be better off with the single within his weight range as apposed to a double at the top of his range
