Was it windy, or hilly. Jeep has reduced the misfire detection so it will not pop the Avengers light to easily. That just masks the problem. The pedal demaded torque at low engine speed high cruise, needs to exceed the torque limit for 7 and 8 in order to maintain cruise. When it can't the throttle body surges back and forth and the jumpiness in airflow gets registered as misfire. If the surge is severe enough it will trigger the torque limit setting on the trans. You should be able to clear it with any simple code scanner. Nothing is broke if that is the situation.

Check your gauges, how are the temps, we know engine coolant is ok. Check underneath for leaks. Does it shift gears ok in auto and manual modes?

Following, the ZF is supposed to be the best transmission out there at the moment.

Based on my personal experience, those are long odds.
That sucks......I found a decent/service combo about 25 mins from my house. While I was waiting for the order to go through I spoke with some customers waiting on the service dept; they had nothing but good things to say.

Yes. Though this one is manufactured under license by Chrysler in the US. Its not made in Germany with that fine German steel.

People can debate whether that makes a difference. I don't pretend to know. But what I said is factually correct.

Yeah I'm not smart enough to know, but this trans has been in the JL for years from what I understand, an not reports of them blowing up in the last three years. Genuinely curious to see what could have gone wrong with this one.

I also saw you got 8.3% under invoice from what I assume is the same dealer. I have friends in DC, and may be pinging you for a referral to see if I can get the same deal. Dealers in the Denver area are sick with customers, and feel zero reason to capitulate on anything since, from their perspective, there are enough suckers out there to keep them slick in slop 'til the cows come home.

This message could be something complex, or it could be very benign. OP, take it in for service. Hell, that's what it's telling you to do anyway. Warranty has your back. Not sure why you'd do anything else.

A bunch of forum jockeys aren't going to solve this one.
