The 3.0 was massively detuned in this, 288 hp, 360 torque or so, not exactly huge numbers honestly.

Hopefully the jeep 3.0 puts out better numbers, although maybe it's better if it doesn't so I don't trade mine in.
The Ford Press release says 392 hp.

I actually love Fords. Currently own three of them around the farm.
But if I'd wanted a Ranger Raptor, I would have bought one. I wanted a Jeep Gladiator and I'm happy with my Mojave.

I have no interest in a Ranger Raptor, but competition can only benefit the consumer.

The 392 sounds great and is a hoot to drive, but it’s heavy and super thirsty for a truck that has a 22 gallon tank. Give me a factory turbo (or twin turbo) 6 in my Mojave and I’ll be happy. It’ll be faster than. 392, and a few $ in tuning will make it even faster if you want. Yeah, with your foot in it it’ll probably drink gas even faster than the 392, but if you want to cruise on the highway or back roads on a road trip you’ll get to skip a few gas stations that the Hemi driver won’t.

Yes, if you’re a rock crawler you don’t need to go faster most of the time, but the opposite is true in the sand. Besides, if power didn’t matter rock crawling everyone would have bought 4 cyl TJs back in the day.

I think a bunch of people are missing the point here. I don’t want a Ford. I want Jeep to put out a Gladiator with the new engine, along with the best combination of suspension and drivetrain parts that are already available but on different trims/models. It should be a no-brainer. You know they have people who read these forums…

I don't think we missed the point... your original post did not clearly state what you just said...

These. We all know the drill: on the Ford boards, I'm sure they thrash the Gladiator. Loyalty runs deep. Esp among the big-3 Americans.

@Renegade, "We want a Mojave suspended XR Rubicon Gladiator, with the 3.0T Inline 6! Let's go!"

Exactly. Better products produce better competition. The Ranger Raptor will only elevate Jeep's game.

From my original post: “We want a Mojave suspended XR Rubicon Gladiator, with the 3.0T Inline 6!”
What’s most frustrating is that most of this already exists on either a JL or JT. Package it with a factory warranty, and it’s a winner.
