So I picked up my JT on Wednesday morning.
Thursday afternoon I contacted Sirius through the head unit because the Satellite radio channels were not working.
They attempted to updated it over the air but no change.
I parked it overnight and in the morning all I get is black screen.
I have an appointment at the dealership in a few days?

Looks like this is happening to many with this radio. Very disappointing. 50k well spent.

You can try pulling Fuse F97 in the PDC while the JL is running. Leave it pulled for say 15sec and then put the fuse back in. Turn the JL off and wait 10mins or so and then restart the JL. This will reboot UConnect and it could resolve it.

Alright am1978! The fuse pull did the trick, radio is back on but still can't aquire Satellites or keep time. I attempted a over air update again to get those issues right but no success. Also almost all fuses were incredibly loose ?

I was going to recommend checking ALL of your fuses. Many owners have found loose or improperly seated fuses in their panels. Doing so may prevent other "gremlins" down the road too.

I’ll keep searching the JL forum to see what others had to do. Rhinebeck01 has a lot of useful gouge and he’s pretty helpful to engage. They have a TSB page there and it doesn’t spell out this issue. Have you tried checking for a unconnect update on the Mopar site? You can update via USB. If you’re current and pulled the fuse already it could heal itself after 1-3 days.

Has anybody done a radio update via USB themselves? I have yet to see a Uconnect drop for the Gladiator from their website that allowed a owner to update via USB. All I have seen is done either OTA or via the dealership.

Not me, but JeepCares will say it can be done—they have stated that in the JL forum.

If your fuses are loose then your Jeep wasn't properly PDI'd at the dealership; one of the FIRST things the PDI guy should be doing is seating the fuses and taking the vehicle out of shipping mode.

I did an update through USB. I ordered a map update last August when it was on sale for $99. The map updates only work with the latest version of the Uconnect software. The newest Uconnect version is included on a separate USB stick with the map update.

This is all very helpful everyone thanks!

@am1978 ill do a search for what Rhinebeck01 has posted.

@shawnebell This is the first time I have heard of PDI and Shipping mode. I bought this vehicle online from Oregon and had it shipped to me in Hawaii so I had pretty much 0 interaction with the dealer that sold it to me and I did not see it in person until it was delivered. Do you know of other things I should look for that the dealer might have also over looked?

@Mr_Bill Are you saying they actually sent you a usb stick with the updates on it?

I will still be taking it to my local dealer for my original appointment on the 1st. I think ill let them know about the loose fuses i found and hopefully they will be able to search around for other loose ends and possibly get a better version running on this silly head unit?

I know it can be done, the point I am trying to make is that I have not seen any update available from the Uconnect website for the Gladiator. There has been at least two update drops for SFTA for early 2020 models and another recently late 2021 for a overall system update. In both cases, it was handled by TSB for me at the dealership but neither update would show on the Uconnect website for me to do it myself.

I wonder if you can still download it and run the update manually—an overwrite of the same version.
