Hmmm..I'm taking my gladiator in for its standard service and to have the recall work done, ill report the issue to see if the dealer finds anything and report back if so!
Did you figure out what the issue was? I have the same thing happening with mine around 3k rpm. Seems like we may have an issue but I can't find where the sound is coming from.

Same issue here (also Mt). The dealer thought (from my video and description) that it had to do with the VVL system. Not the transmission. I don't know if that's right or not, but I know another user had a similar noise on his auto, and ended up going through a camshaft, assuming it was the same issue. But I don't know that it was. His may be different. But the more I hear it, the more I think it's coming from my dash.

Mine has been doing this intermittently since about 2700 miles. I'm at right around 18000 miles now. But it's still too intermittent to get a diagnosis from the dealership. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, and it drives fine. I don't know. It does it from right before 3k to about 3400 rpm. To me, it sounds like a resonant vibration in the dash, rather than the drivetrain. It sounds like something is just vibrating at the right (wrong) frequency. Mine stopped for a while, and then I noticed again this week.

@Gladiator847 has been having this noise too.

Nope. Hadn't noticed it for awhile then it started making that sound again, right around 3000 rpm. Fairly sure it's coming from the dash area, guessing it's in the instrument cluster.
That's what I'm thinking too. It sounds like a resonant/sympathetic vibration (I'm an amateur musician). I don't think it's a mechanical issue. I don't know for sure, but Dave's engine post scared me (his is automatic). I'll keep listening for it. It's not getting worse. I'm 99.5% thinking it's something in the dash or cluster that must resonate with our transmissions at that range, since it seems to just be happening to us MT folks.

I also have experienced the weird resonance/vibration noise that seems to be coming from behind the dash around 3k-3500 rpm (usually in 3rd gear). I've actually hit the dash thinking I could knock something in/out of place. I have only noticed this happening when the vehicle has been running for a long time. Think couple hours of driving or more. I have not had this happen on any around town trips. My thought was maybe something gets really warm and loosens up behind the dash? No idea but it's only been noticed on road trips or long drives...odd.

One time i accidentally solved a resonance issue. Mall crawler with all kinds of bass pulsations amping music for the neighborhood pulled aside at a stop light, rattling everything I got from then until he pulled ahead. The vibrato identified a rake in the bed, loose bolts, and the misfitted tonneau all at different vibes. If it is a resonance, it will appear under multiple conditions. There might be a way to track it down without waiting for it to appear? Unless its not a big deal. 2c.

It's only a big deal when it does it haha. Conditions have to be right. Otherwise, I forget about it. I think I'm eventually gonna have to take the dash apart. The condition is right before 3000 rpm to about 3400 rpm, but only sometimes. It doesn't happen often enough for the dealership to catch it, so I'll probably have to solve it on my own. One day... It's a big deal when it does it. It's annoying. But then it won't do it for like 3 or 4 months. Sounds like it's coming from around the instrument panel.

Lets hear everyone who ordered a MT sound off. When did you order and what status are you in? Has anyone passed D status? I asked Jeep Cares if my order was not progressing past D because of the manual transmission and their response was there were no delays associated with my order.

I Ordered on 4/26 and have been in D status for over 3 weeks.
Edit: Finally delivered 7/16. That’s nearly five months, but worth it. Mods in signature.
Ordered 2/25/22, went to D1 on 3/17, estimated ship date 4/11 (not holding my breath). Jeep chat said that it would begin building "very soon", whatever that means.

Mine did ok with 4.10. Going through the Rockies on the interstate or in a headwind, I was in 5th gear 95% of the time and that tipped me to wanting a re-gear. Now with 4.56, I'm at about 2475rpm at 75 in 6th and I love it. I can pull hills with it or pass with it but it and gas mileage is about the same. In all around driving it might be slightly better. Anyway, I'd say in the mountains with 35's you'd love the 4.56 gears. It really is the sweet spot for 35's and I wouldn't want it any shorter. If you ever plan to go to 37's then 4.88 would be perfect. I won't do that, so I'm really happy with 4.56. Super happy with it. It also didn't make 1st gear too short. I was worried about that. And it helped reverse, which was too tall before.

I hoppe that helps!
This is exactly what I've been wanting to hear. Same as NachoRuby I (will have if it ever gets built) 35s (actually 34.5s) Kanati Trail Hogs on a stock JTR. I did get the Mopar 2" lift (my wife is 5'6") and ordered JCR classic rock slider steps. I still want it to be a decent rock crawler - plenty of that in New Mexico, and relatively good gas mileage. I thought 4.56s would be about right looking at the gear calculations, so thanks for that.

Man you see everything! I also have Ion 17X9 wheels (on sale), Kanati 315/70-17 Trail Hogs (on sale), Mopar 2" lift kit (on sale). I'm ready if they ever finish this thing.

Folks, as I posted above, I ordered my Centerforce clutch kit about a week ago. Just to be cautious, I contacted Jeep about what impact this could have on my warranty. It saddens me to tell you that they told me that by adding this clutch to my Mojave, my warranty will be voided.
They told me that as the vehicle is mine, I am free to do whatever I wish, but the powertrain warranty will be gone. So........ I canceled my order with Quadratec for the clutch.

Just wanted others to know what I was told.
Does that apply to Spicer ring and pinion sets? I assume if you buy it from Jeep Performance parts it won't void the drivetrain warranty, or why would Mopar sell them? The clutches, I guess I get.
Edit: Talked to my dealer about it. He said that even if they install any issue between wheels and diff would no longer be covered by warranty. Seems ironic even hypocritical given that Jeep sells gears on their performance parts catalog. Same with Mopar 2” lift. At least that’s my dealer’s opinion.

If it is a Mopar part that you're adding, then you are probably correct, but I would get verification from Jeep first. Also, who does the installation may come into play, as well.

Please be clear, I am not making an endorsement of Jeep doing service work but when it comes to warranties, they have a platoon of lawyers who know the fine print better than we do.
