Did you figure out what the issue was? I have the same thing happening with mine around 3k rpm. Seems like we may have an issue but I can't find where the sound is coming from.
Same issue here (also Mt). The dealer thought (from my video and description) that it had to do with the VVL system. Not the transmission. I don't know if that's right or not, but I know another user had a similar noise on his auto, and ended up going through a camshaft, assuming it was the same issue. But I don't know that it was. His may be different. But the more I hear it, the more I think it's coming from my dash.
That's what I'm thinking too. It sounds like a resonant/sympathetic vibration (I'm an amateur musician). I don't think it's a mechanical issue. I don't know for sure, but Dave's engine post scared me (his is automatic). I'll keep listening for it. It's not getting worse. I'm 99.5% thinking it's something in the dash or cluster that must resonate with our transmissions at that range, since it seems to just be happening to us MT folks.
I also have experienced the weird resonance/vibration noise that seems to be coming from behind the dash around 3k-3500 rpm (usually in 3rd gear). I've actually hit the dash thinking I could knock something in/out of place. I have only noticed this happening when the vehicle has been running for a long time. Think couple hours of driving or more. I have not had this happen on any around town trips. My thought was maybe something gets really warm and loosens up behind the dash? No idea but it's only been noticed on road trips or long drives...odd.

It's only a big deal when it does it haha. Conditions have to be right. Otherwise, I forget about it. I think I'm eventually gonna have to take the dash apart. The condition is right before 3000 rpm to about 3400 rpm, but only sometimes. It doesn't happen often enough for the dealership to catch it, so I'll probably have to solve it on my own. One day... It's a big deal when it does it. It's annoying. But then it won't do it for like 3 or 4 months. Sounds like it's coming from around the instrument panel.

This is exactly what I've been wanting to hear. Same as NachoRuby I (will have if it ever gets built) 35s (actually 34.5s) Kanati Trail Hogs on a stock JTR. I did get the Mopar 2" lift (my wife is 5'6") and ordered JCR classic rock slider steps. I still want it to be a decent rock crawler - plenty of that in New Mexico, and relatively good gas mileage. I thought 4.56s would be about right looking at the gear calculations, so thanks for that.
Man you see everything! I also have Ion 17X9 wheels (on sale), Kanati 315/70-17 Trail Hogs (on sale), Mopar 2" lift kit (on sale). I'm ready if they ever finish this thing.
Does that apply to Spicer ring and pinion sets? I assume if you buy it from Jeep Performance parts it won't void the drivetrain warranty, or why would Mopar sell them? The clutches, I guess I get.
If it is a Mopar part that you're adding, then you are probably correct, but I would get verification from Jeep first. Also, who does the installation may come into play, as well.
