if someone can design it I’d consider having a batch made
Contact Matt at Bull Tear in MN.
Matt has done many such things for AMC racing engines and Jeep engines to convert to remote filters, etc. He's also made kits to convert Jeep and AMC engines to serpentine belts from V-belts. I've seen his work, it's first class.

Here at dealership, having oil change, the last of my "Wave Program", finally. Oil drained, filter chunked. Oh Crap, no filter, luckily another dealership nearby had one, only one. MMM-K, game on and all finished up, so what oil did y'all use? Well, back behind the wall it goes.

Now for the real reason I'm here, after multiple times to service department for the A/C going out, the compressor is bad. At least I'm informed that a replacement SHOULD be here next week. Probably quicker than those replacement oil filters.

I have had my diesel for 5 days now and I think I will order oil and a filter as a backup for when I need that first oil change. My first diesel too and I need to learn more about any preventative maintenance tricks and tips ASAP.

good luck, filters are about as hard to find as hens teeth and the specific oil needed is a close second

Just had the second of my wave oil changes done last Friday. DEF inducement update on the recall done too. According to the dealership. They have crates of filters in stock. Of course that is not directly from the parts dept.

That’s definitely good to hear. Maybe the supply chain is getting some traffic again. Jeep Cares through many Conversations initially gave me a list of dealerships that “had them “. Parts departments everywhere showed them on the trucks and being delivered within the week. Then another week. Then a month. Then it turned out they were nonexistent. After seven weeks, Jeep Cares hooked me up with a Chinese knock off. One dealership said that would void my warranty and I had to sign a document stating owner supplied filter. I insisted that they talk with Jeep cares and figure out what I should really do. For now. I’m running the Chinese unit. Hopefully installing genuine soon. Aircraft oil filters are the same story. None of the supply houses can get the commonly used Champions.

It's more regional than anything else. Some have not had issues getting said filters, some have found empty shelves in parts departments, others by multiples at a time without issue.

I have noticed that Amazon only lists "replaces xxxxxxx" filters, all pics look the same, only the "brand" varies so it appears no one is selling the real MOPAR branded filter on Amazon, but that's just Amazon.

Some parts of the country are having little problem, others have nothing to sell.

I use https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/ as the canary in the mine. If they can't get filters there is a problem. (They can't get filters) They seemed to be directly connected with the supply streams to sell the filters they had at the rates they charged. Basically their rates (in my mind) indicated they were buying direct from manufacturer and cutting out middle man costs.

I read this thread a couple of weeks ago and decided to order an oil filter and fuel filter to have as a back up. They were both on backorder. I just got a notice yesterday that they shipped. Hopefully things are restocking now and this won't be a future issue. I may put a couple more on order....

You do realize you are panic buying and create a shortage artificially? Why would you buy oil filters now when the service schedule is 10000 miles or 5-10K if you want to be diligent?

They’re buying one of each. Hardly panic buying. Planning ahead is more like it.

I keep two of each type oil filter I need on hand - there's been times I've wanted one only to find places were out and that was in normal times. Sometimes you don't want to have to stop at 3 places to buy a filter, so you keep one on hand and replace it after you use it because you have time to look for it then.

We’ll, because I believed 5 different dealerships who said it would not be a problem. I believed 4 different parts departments who verified through Jeep that they were in transit which turned out to be false. Jeep tried hard to remedy this and did a good job at least staying in contact with me. But….

That resulted in me not having my Gladiator for 7 weeks. Panic buying?? I won’t be caught like this again.

Now I’m what I should be “panic buying” next. Have you looked for a fuel filter yet?
