Does anyone else experience a bad wind buffeting coming from near the sound bar from 50-60 mph? Sounds like when you have window open or some bass bumping. Absolutely terrible sound. Goes away at 60 and doesn’t start until about 50.

Roll down just the rear windows with the front up while on the hwy and it’s horrible.

I’m talking all windows up at 50-60 and it sounds like when you have just one rear window down on the highway.

You get this with windows closed and the full top on? That seems odd, maybe you need to tighten down some hardtop bolts.

I have a sunrider and use it all the time, there is buffering at higher speeds, but opening the back window helps a lot. So I'd this is happening with your windows rolled down, I'd say open the back window

But what confirmation testing have you performed? Does cracking a window cause the noise to stop? The best thing to stop window buffeting is usually another open window.

If this does go away with opening a window, then there is a leak somewhere in your hardtop allowed enough air in to cause pressure changes at speed, i'd start by taking off the freedom panels, investigating the top 2 hardtop bolts for looseness, and then being very precise about my freedom panel reinstallation. I know sometimes I get a roof whistle, and a freedom panel removal and reinstallation is usually enough to fix that problem (i'm assuming i'd pinched a bit of weatherstripping).

Do you have one of the freedom panel seals messed up?
On our JL if you are not careful you can get one of the back seal pieces sticking up.
I think its the passenger side panel seal and the drivers side is supposed to sit over it.

Take the panels off and re-seat them.

As others have mentioned, you do not have one (or both) freedom panels set correctly. An unseated panel will allow air into the cabin giving you the buffeting effect. You need to re-install the panels and ensure the seals are lined up correctly and the panels are flush across them.

The panels have never been off as of yet. I will take em off and re seat them tonight see if that fixes it. I think it is strange it only does it in that small mph range. I’ll update after I’ve messed w it tonight.

This. Jeep's version of "have you tried turning it off an on?"

If the panels aren't just right, they'll also leak under a chassis flex. Which is awesome if you're into getting cold water poured on your shoulder.

Yeah that’s weird. Mine does somewhat with the Sunrider open, but opening the back windows a little bit takes care of it. There is no buffeting at all when everything is closed up. Let us know how it works after you re installed the FP’s.

Funny, I'm a computer guy as well. One of my co-workers got me that on a coffee mug.

Are you sure you're in the right forum? I think you meant to post in the Ford Bronco forum?

Made and quickly regretted that decision. I believe I had all windows down and rolled the fronts up first ? Woof.

OP, hope it’s just an alignment issue with the top, but if not get it to the dealership. No reason to experience buffeting with your cab sealed up.
