random thought of the day - under tailgate light bar

I was thinking today that for every truck I have owned, I end up installing one of those multi-function LED strips under the tailgate. I have not seen one of those on a Gladiator. Then I realized the third brake light is on the tailgate itself...which I have never seen on another truck.

Pro- with the third brake light very visible at other drivers' eye level, don't really need the under-gate LED strip.
Con - with the tailgate down, you lose your CHMSL.

Every other modern truck has a third brake light on the back of the cab. No real need for l.e.ds under the tailgate unless you just like the look and extra visibility.

Have you ever seen another convertible truck? The SSR had its 3rd brake light on the bed cap, and I'll be honest, a quick Google search hasn't yet told me where the Dakota Sport's third brake light is...

They're ok and that's all I really want to say, the install was sold as plug and play but that wasn't the case for me and several other people. The end result is great, not overpowering light when backing up but a whole lot more light than the stock led bulb provides.

I have the Putco Blade. I mounted it with hefty magnets to retain accessibility to the spare tire access hole. The magnets do just fine for road use.

It has the turn indicator, and white LEDs for reverse as well...

did you glue the magnets to the strip? im assuming flat magnets

IMHO Those Putco Blades really improve the “noticeabilty” of the trucks I’ve seen with them. I want one!
