I know folks have had issues with their 3.0 but my experience has been good so far.
90% of the 19k miles has been towing my 3500lb travel trailer in the mountains of Colorado.

I drag my trailer all over the place and use starlink to work remotely.

The only issues I have had are derates and high temps if pushing the motor up hills in the heat. I’ve learned just slow down a bit and let the motor work and it will get you there.

The other thing I hate is how bad the turbo lag is from a stop. It’s bad enough to where it will cause safety issues if trying to cross a 4 lane road with limited visibility.

I do have a Mopar 2” lift and 35” tires on this gladiator rubicon ecodiesel.

Would you do the GDE tune or regear to speed up your acceleration from a stop?

I also hated the lag. Coming from a 2020 JTR 3.6 to this 2022 JTRD was almost disappointing, even though this has much more power the lag was ridiculous.
I purchased the Banks Pedal Monster and Derringer. I installed the Pedal Monster first before installing the Derringer due to being short on time that evening. The Pedal Monster alone woke up the laggy response, near instant response even on one of the lower settings, on sport mode it’s ridiculously responsive. Made it fun to drive. Installed The Derringer a couple days later. You can feel the extra power but I’d say I could have been happy just installing the Pedal Monster, it made all the difference in throttle response.

I have the IDash gauge, Pedal monster and Derringer waiting to go on. I have to wait because it goes back to see what happened to the instant mileage and tire fill app.

I have a hill that approaches and crosses a 4 lane highway no traffic light so you need to move quick.

I will floor the truck from a stop and it will take 3-4 full seconds to spoil up… while that might not seem bad it’s really awful if somebody is coming your way. In fact scary.

my fiancées Subaru is actually the same speed 0-60, but the pedal delay is shit when trying to cross that road.

Now if I hold brake and give it a hair of throttle and then let off the brake it’s not an issue at all… it will burn rubber…..

power is fine but the delay in pedal is awful.
Pedal commander shows up at 6pm tonight, I’ll install and update this thread

My instant mileage has been weird for the past couple weeks also. Weird in that it disappeared for a bit then just appeared again, then disappeared again a few days ago and then It just started working again this afternoon.

I put a pedal commander on my JTRD (took it off my Ram 1500 - same model). Works great, but seemed like it reduced my mileage quite a bit. I am sure that was in part to me driving it faster. Definitely helps with the lag. Split the difference between peppy and mileage. Turn it all the way up to Sport+ and gun it!

So I would say it helps with the lag, a bit.

I’m definitely feeling turbo lag, as that same hill approaching a 4 lane busy road crossing results about the same lag. It’s certainly mechanical turbo lag.

Flat starts are not an issue, but crossing with traffic on an uphill approach takes about 30’ of vehicle movement to spin up that turbo enough to move the heavy jeep out from oncoming traffic.

While I would say it helped some, I’m going to check for boost leaks, and a clogged intake filter.

It could just be me coming from very responsive gas engines.

the pedal commander adds some fun certainly though

I have the derringer and the pedal monster there is no lag. In fact I end up in manual mode holding a higher gear to accelerate more slowly pretty often.

The derringer doesnt do much for top end power but it adds fuel during tip in and 3/4 throttle and helps get the boost up higher at lower rpm. Helps make the jeep feel alot peppier.
