This has been floating around for a bit. The typo theory makes sense more than anything else. A month to retool the line is reasonable, and in line with the rest of the industry. Seems a bit later than usual to start production (disappointingly so), but... 2021. Additionally, the big reveal is currently expected at the NY Auto Show (8/20-29, IIRC), which fits into that time frame nicely as well.

Have we seen anything pointing to what is new in '22 or nothing concrete yet?

The April date is NOT Correct.. I ordered a '21 Mojave on 6/26/21.. It is buiilt, on the truck and should arrive this week 26 July. The info on the '22's appears to be correct; per my conversations with the Dealer Principal

Yeah, I ordered on July 5 and got a 21 VIN. I'm having a hard enough time waiting for kine right now, I would have probably gone crazy if I waited to order a 22...

Mopar site leak indicates no new powertrain. Anything else count as “big reveal”? Honestly asking because I’m holding off on a Max Tow order and might look for a 21 Rubi deal if it’s only Uconnect5.

Not ordering a '22 unless they have a 4xe.
Same. I sold my 2020 Sport S at the peak of the used price insanity with the intent to likely order a 4xe this Fall. If they don't have it, though, I'll probably just wait until next year.

I can't imagine they won't have it, though.

I've seen a few places where it's been stated there will be an electrified version of everything in the stable within a short time frame. If the 4Xe isn't announced in New York, it will likely be a mid-model year sort of thing. It seems pretty well ironed out with the JL, so it's sort of hard to imagine it's a big lift to get it in a JT.

I'm curious to see what happens next, but I am very risk-averse and can see myself going with a 'safer' engine option than the 4xE even if it does come out. I might be tempted if it's backed by something other than the 2.0, though.

When the battery is depleted, the 4xe system largely relies on the ICE engine. Gladiators are made to tow. The 2.0L does not put out enough power to tow, hence they do not put it in the JT now.
Ergo, the 4xe Gladiator will not have the 2.0L.
Prove me wrong -
