We're less than 60 days from the full order guide. I'm surprised that there are NO leaks or rumors at all floating around yet. Very odd....

I do internet searches weekly to try to find leaks. Just silence and conjecture so far.

The uConnect 5 is supposed to be available 2022.
It'll have wireless CarPlay/Android Auto

I hope it is a simple upgrade for 2021 owners. I have the 7" (my order is almost here) and will probably wait on replacing the 7" unit until I know if the 2022 model will work in a 2021

It either won’t, or it will with an over-priced firmware update.

For powertrain changes/additions, the 4xe is likely to be the big one, but probably not with the 4cyl, as in the JLU. Probably the V6 with electrification. Also of note, all V6 auto JLs are now eTorque. I wouldn’t be surprised (or offended) if that translates to the JT.

Yeah I can see that. The Ram uses eTorque with the P-star so why not the Jeep?

I have been wondering how they could use the 2.0L when they don’t currently offer it in the JT. The V6 would be less complicated methinks. Can’t see a hybrid option materializing until next year tho.

I heard they cancelled the 6.4 Gladiator development plans and no 2.0L option.

Honestly they could stand to wait a few years on a 392. This generation has plenty of life left in it and they could use it as a boost as it gets older.

I can only guess that the 2L Turbo runs into cooling or emissions problems at the higher GVW and GCW required in the JT. Electrification can't solve the GCW issue, as its sustained load. AFAIK, the New Grand Cherokees are also getting a 4xe option (instead of a diesel), and that will probably be a Pentastar based system.
For myself, I wouldn't mind the eTorque V6, because it brings some serious electrical capability. You could run a sine wave inverter big enough for a 30A RV plug off the 48V battery.

I personally don't think there ever was intention to put the 392 in the JT. It's a completely different use case compared to JL. And as others have noted, there's no 2.0T due to not being able to meet SAE J2807 without over-heating, so making the 392 Hemi work would therefore be virtually impossible.

I decided to stop waiting for 2022 and order now. The main two things I was hoping for in 2022 were: real exterior mirrors instead of the toy mirrors they've been using, and the Anvil color. Well, if by some miracle they come out with real mirrors that actually belong on a truck, I can always retrofit those to a 2021 easily. The Anvil color... well I'll just have to suck it up and be pi**ed if that happens now. :D
