Found this hitch skid plate for $80 with tax and ordered it. I'll be testing it on my Moab and out west trip soon.

man i want this so i can step up to my bed rack easier but i cant spare the extra length. as it is the truck has only 1.5" clearance to my garage door. And i know i would forget to take it with my or remove it when parking and drive through the back wall lol. Such a tease!

I also got the one from Supreme Suspensions before their price went up. I chose this one because it has the additional gussets to help strengthen the sides of the skidplate where they're most likely to be bent when actually supporting the weight of the Jeep.

Calm down, I was just pointing out that we pay so much for our Jeeps and trying to save $20 on a untested product seems a little silly. I work two jobs to pay for my junk so I'm not rolling thick either.

How do you know its untested? Because it's missing a brand name?

I bought this same one on Amazon and put it to use at Wolf Caves in central TX. It held up very well. One thing to note is that with the Curt receiver I have, you cannot use the first hole.

Where’s the link to the hitch skid that looked like it was just begging to harpoon the vehicle behind you?
Seemed to be cosmetically appealing, very versatile, and a great deterrent to tailgaters.

Edit: I found some of them, they’re referred to as beaver tails. Pretty much for adding a step I suppose. Not really a skid.

I used and abused this thing in Moab. It was an absolute rock star! I can't count how many times we were sliding down a steep departure slick rock wall and had all or most of the weight on this thing. It didn't bend in anyway. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the Red Rock bed rails. One angled departure bent the passenger side tune. ***Update on bed rails*** extreme terrain is sending me a new passenger lower piece and I mail in the old one back. They are doing that for free!

Looks to me like a little spray paint on the red rock bed rails good to go! I think a hitch skid is a great idea, thanks for the photos…..Jack

Good to see real life testing. Really not to much to this piece. Some steel and as long as the welding is decent it should hold up. I bought the same skid. So thanks for the test.
