Just thought I would share some pictures of our setup. The straps on the ceiling are just some cam straps that do a great job of securing all of our camping chairs up and out of the way. The rack in the bottom has worked out great on several trips now for retaining our water cans, refrigerator, recovery stuff, etc. Maybe this will get some folks some ideas on just some of the other things you can do in the bed.
Love the setup. How are you reaching the water jugs in the center?
Thank you. I am trying to figure out how to store my gas cans and be able to reach them. I have the tray and the cabinets on mine. They are for backup but when we need them, just hop up on the gate and grab 'em.
If they were a daily use item, would have done it differently. Our trailer holds 130liters (35 gals) so we dont pull out the extra water cans all that often.
Our setup is specifically to support camping in our trailer...as well as our cold beer and chilled beverage needs....for extended periods in some very remote areas.
what tray?Thank you. I am trying to figure out how to store my gas cans and be able to reach them. I have the tray and the cabinets on mine.
ohh right. I just installed a sheet of 1/4" osb with some 1x pine screwed in. Surprisingly i only have 1 screw pulled out of the osb. My 1/8" aluminum tray idea will definately be stronger than necessary. most of the time I don't put heavy objects up there, but my "camping tool box" can be heavy and sometimes the tetris of packing requires i put it up there. The front runner box tray. It runs all the way across the bed. Holds 4 boxes. My issue is the tray goes from side to side and the cabinets go next to the tray on either side. So I can no longer get to my jerry cans from the sides.
I fixed it this morning. I ran an 18 gauge wire from the white and green at the 3rd brake light in the tailgate. I have a pulse module in there so tied in right after it to get the pulse safety effect on the alucab as well. Fished the wire through the tailgate with a lot of 4” zip ties to keep it clean. Worked my way over to the alucab wire drop on the passenger side and connected everything with spade connectors. Made a short ground right to the chassis.Where did you guys tie in the alucab canopy brake light?
I learned the gladiator tail lights have one lead for turn/brake so if you tie in there it will work but also flash with the right turn signal.
the center light on the tailgate makes the most sense but haven’t figured out how to get at it in a way that makes sense.
any ideas LMK
