The guys at ok4wd were great to work with and let me use their dumpster to install it in the parking lot..

PSA for those who have the Builtright rails instead of the Oem ones; the plates that Alu-cab supplies are about 3/16" too short and really only grab either the top or the bottom of the rails. It was enough to drive home, but I checked it a few times lol..

When I got home I ordered some stainless M8 strut nuts and that worked perfectly.

Overall I'm really happy, but I do have a couple of complaints..

I'm a bit annoyed that for the price of this they just left the lighting wires dangling and looking like someone stripped them with their teeth. Even just providing a set of weatherpack or deutsch connectors or at least enough wire to hook them up would have really been nice.

Not a huge deal, but for nearly $4k that's not great.

My other issue is that the doors feel kind of flimsy, I think I'm probably going to add some internal ribs. Especially the rear hatch, it feels like it seals well but pulling it open really flexes the seal at the bottom of the window.

Anyway complaints aside, overall I'm pleased for sure..

I did not need anything taller for what I was planning to do
If you are going to use the tracks in the bars to attach stuff then the low bars are fine but in order to attach my RTT I needed the extra space. It wasn’t much but enough and I doubt there is/was any effect on mileage or performance.

If anyone is looking for a used All-cab explorer. I saw this canopy Friday its in great shape. Price is very fair plus he has the load bars

Yeah…if I didn’t already provide a downpayment/interest free loan to a shop for my cab last month, I’d have been tempted to load the rig up on the auto train and run down there and get it.

Just checked this week to see what the ETA is like. Still mid-late July.

Installing the alu-cab explore canopy next weekend. I know the cap has a seal but will I need to put my own in the area I’m pointing to in the picture?

I did. Just used a small strip of the soft rubber sticky sealant I had laying around. Seems to have worked, can't really see it once installed and no leaks.
Just in the very corner, not all the way across.

You are welcome. You will really like this canopy. The light weight is great, my wife helped me set it on the Jeep and she is tall but not a big woman. Install not bad once you figure the shimming out but the brackets are top notch. I hate wiring so that was a bit of a pain but all in all very happy.

Nice! And I have a buddy that likes to wire stuff so I’ll leave it to him lol

Just to clarify, this thing is $4,000+, but I’ll need to make sure to get ahold of ~$5 in weather stripping prior to the install? ?

There is an updated version of the canopy supposed to be out later this year. Saw one at overland expo, but was not able to get pictures because of the way it was parked between 2 canopy campers.
Main differences, positive pressure vent above window at cab end, window at cab slides to match sliding window on gladiator. New side doors that have double seals and the option for sliding windows. The doors also seemed less flimsy. over all a slightly less utilitarian look.
There also appeared to be a new full length kitchen cupboard accessory.

just saw that on youtube. My order is supposed to come in end of August. Wonder if I can/should cancel and switch for the new one. Any idea when it can be ordered?
