Thank you for the well written instructions. I wouldnā€™t have even known it was possible.

I'm just spitballing, but maybe running a wire antenna up behind the a-pillar trim might work.

And if you want to keep the correct length, up over across the header of the windshield.

Just a thought.

Finished this yesterday. I plugged the hole with a 5/8ā€ plug. Used a cork to measure the hole. Used a nut and magnet to hold the plug and recovered the nut from the inside once it was snapped in. Installed new badges as well!

I know several people discussed moving the OEM antenna under the hood...Im wondering if anyone has done this? How did it work out? Where exactly did you put the antenna?

I think everyone was putting the antenna up inside the upper part of the dash as that is where the cable runs through. I'm pretty sure there isn't enough cable to move it under the hood without an extension of some sort.

I did this over the weekend...I bought the following items from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07X3MWR35?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001IVCLRU?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

This allowed me to go directly from the back of the head unit...I don't listen to the radio so amazing reception wasn't really the key. I made sure I could get the stations I wanted but other than that its usually music from my phone.

I slapped another Mojave badge on the antenna hole, have to say it looks much better...

Just did this today, my stubby had started to break down at the base and hit the body on windy days. I used the OEM antenna and slid it across horizontally fairly low inside the dash. I still receive local stations but frankly donā€™t care because I never use the radio. Iā€™ll only ever use it for weather or other emergency notification if my phone for some reason doesnā€™t work.

I cannot, for the life of me, find the part number for the Desert Rated badge. Do you happen to know what it is or if itā€™s multiple parts you needed to order?
