Hey folks
I just bought a '21 Gladiator Overland and I want to swap out the plastic bumper for a Rubicon front bumper. But, I can't drop the $$$ for an OEM bumper. I'm looking at this Amazon knock-off Rubicon bumper. Is anybody using this bumper? I'm looking for some feed back
I see it comes with holes punched out for PDC sensors (European model JL/JT). I can't find any info on the hole size. I'm thinking of putting some LED marker lights or rock lights.
Have any of you folks tried this bumper of done anything interesting with th

Go on Facebook Marketplace and if you are patient I will guarantee you will find an OEM take-off within driving distance from you for a great price.

Just saw a brand new one today, dirt cheap. Hell you can probably build a faux Rubicon or Mojave (and I see plenty of those locally) with just take-offs from folks “upgrading” their OEM equipment as soon as they leave the dealership!

They all seem to be of the same design on Ebay and Amazon i bought one from Greenbike around $300 to try it out. I am happy with it like the OEM it has a lot of fasteners if you need to take it apart to swap the lighting, wiring or recovery hooks it takes a bit of time. If you have a Mojave skid plate you have to notch the bumper and plate in a few spots. If you buy a knockoff take the time to either fully paint it or coat it with some clear to protect it before you put it on surprisingly they put out all the effort to make it, include all the extras and then used a cheap coating process. Some do not like the winch mount plate haven't had any issues with it and being included along with the flip up plate mount it made it more of a bargain.

Yes, you can save a few bucks buying the non-OEM version. But frankly, I'm extremely happy I took the time and effort for look for, and find all the OEM parts for my build.

Do what thou wilt, and all, but for toughness and longevity, get the Rubicon 3 piece.

They make a knockoff version of the 10th anniversary Rubi bumper in Aluminum others on the forum have had success with it. It also may save a few pounds while being more corrosion resistant at about the same cost on ebay and Amazon. It looks to be the same design only the skin is stamped from aluminum sheet instead of steel may even be made with the same tooling.

That's usually how they do this, either mimicking or straight copying the design and cheaping out on things like fastener quality, coatings, or just simple tolerances for cuts/bolt holes.

There's a reason my 450 enduro looks just like a clone of a 2007 450exc-f, a couple small changes to not violate patents, and 99% of all frame/suspension parts bolt right on, and it was less than 1/2 the cost of an actual KTM 450 enduro.
- I changed out a few bolts, the tubes (you could see through them), grips, and springs (designed for light ass asians). No less reliable than an actual KTM being abused.

When you buy things like this, you need to have proper expectations, and YOU knew going in not to expect Mopar quality.
- Or maybe Mopar quality is the same thing so it didn't matter much. 😂

If you get the Amazon one paint it before you put it on. I went with the Amazon one a couple years ago and the finish coat isn’t terrible but after a year on I took it off and did a new coat of black. A lot of the corners were getting surface rust.

Sand blast the whole thing, then either primer/paint it or have it coated. If you just paint over a rusty spot, it WILL come back. Surface corrosion isn't "rust" like many people think. "Rot" is what many think "rust" is, it's not. Not saying YOU think that, just clarifying. So if it's just surface corrosion, then sanding/primer/paint should work in DRY CLIMATES.

You'll spend ~300 powdercoating it so that it doesn't rust up, which puts you in the price range of a take-off OEM bumper.

Trust me, it's worth the wait.

I ended up doing a decent sanding job over the entire thing and re coated with black rattle can . You are correct it was just surface corrosion. I did it last year and everything looks good to this day. When I bought it I was getting info on another thread here and a previous buyer advised that I do a re coat before install, Should’ve listened then.
