I would think the MPG should go up in the next 5,000 miles or so, glad it went well!....Jack

Here is a video of the build and most of the trip home. I also will put in a link to my first adventure.

Nice build and fun road trip to enjoy. Rt66 end to end is a bucket list item of mine. I used to drive past the Gemini giant everyday on my work commute.

Well, I made it home, had a great journey with my son and it ran flawless. I can't say enough about the entire staff at AMW we were treated like royalty the entire time we were at the shop, if anyone has this conversion done, I highly suggest flying you to pick it up. We spent almost the entire day at the shop it was a great experience to share with my son which is a total gearhead like me.

The shop is spotless, and everyone will stop what they are doing and explain the process to you at any point, the atmosphere in the shop has a good vibe and it shows in the work they do.

I was under the Jeep admiring the work and the next thing I knew Jarid the owner of AMW was under there with me. He noticed some exhaust clearance that wasn't to his liking so we climbed out he took it in the shop and when we got back from lunch it was perfect.

The power is so good, and the transmission programing is so much better than any stock vehicle I have ever driven. I averaged 15mpg going between 75 and 80 mph on the 2,800-mile journey home.

As far as Ca Smog goes he is in the process and is working very hard to make it a reality. If anyone has any more questions let me know. I am sure I will think of more things and update as I get more miles on it.

I'm curious do you have a full list of changes you made and the cost (along with what they gave you for trade on engine)? I'd love to send my 23 rubicon in for either the 392 or 426 and I'm running 38. Trying to figure out all in cost

Well I hate to talk about what I paid because things change on what they offer from time to time the best thing is to call for exact pricing. I did get a trade in credit for my engine, trans and transfer case. I installed Chromoly axles front and rear before I sent it to them.
I decided the 426 just wasn't worth the extra 10k to me and I must say I am very happy with the power of the 392. I had them add PSC steering, front springs and paddle shifters while it was there. I also had them do an alignment and modify the Next Venture skid plates to fit the Hemi which turned out really good. They offer so many things if you don't have some self-control, it could be really expensive.
I am 100% satisfied with the results, they really went the extra mile to reroute some of the wiring I did to make it even better than I did which I thought was pretty good but with the body off they made it even better. All that being said I did find a few small things I wanted to do when I got it back to make things like I wanted. AMW is a premium engine swap company, so you pay a bit for that but from my experience I got what I paid for, the quality is on par if not better than OEM.

I am sending my Gladiator to AMW next week for a 392 swap, they will also be doing PSC steering at the same time along with a few other things including drive shafts. This is the first time in my 60 year history letting someone else lay a finger on one of my vehicle's. I did my first v8 engine swap in my 81 Toyota pickup when I was 20 so this is going to be hard for me.

So far the experience has been fantastic other than sending in the deposit check. LOL I am shipping the truck from Ca to Michigan next week then me and my Son are flying out on Nov 9th spending the Day at AMW and driving it home.

The truck as of now is on stock axle housings with RCV's in the front, Reid Knuckles, ball joint deletes and Chromoly axles in the rear, sitting on 37's. I have 4:56 gears and ARB's front and rear. I am what I consider a Rock Lander toughest trail so far is probably 5 rated but next year I hope to step that up a bit and see how this goes.

How is your conversion. I’m sending y23 rubicon to them in June. How are the 4:56 gears? I have 4:88 do you see 8th gear and stay there. Thanks for any info. Thanks

Has anyone actually built a 392 Gladiator with 6-speed? All I've ever seen are automatics.

Yes I think they can do that, there was one at Easter Jeep Safari AMW's open house party.

It is working great, I am very happy with the 4:56 gears. It goes into 8th gear and work just like the Jeep was on stock tires. It turns about 2100 rpm at 70mph with 37" Patagonia tires.
