I have a 2022 JTR with Tow. I currently tow 5900lbs and everything is pretty spot on.
I tow a TJ on an 18' dove tail trailer and have the ability to move the jeep front to back to set the tongue weight. I do have to get that weighed officially to perfect it, but I have it pretty well dialed in by frame measurements, wheel well measurements and driving feel.

So my only issue is sometimes on some crappy areas, I get a bit of bounce and I really think this is a combination of the Rubicon Springs and shocks i know the Rubicon Springs and shocks are not optimized for towing, but before I swap them out, I was curious if the bags would be a better and easier solution.

Anyway, for those with similar setups or Air Bag knowledge, I'd appreciate some opinions.
Thanks

Bags will take some of the bouncy house out of it.

But yes, I have a Rubi also and the spring/shock combo are to soft. Might be great for off road, but on road it leaves a lot to be desired.

There are stiffer springs supposedly coming from various different places, but who knows which ratio they based their version of stiffer off of.

The problem is most of those other springs add a little bit of lift, which then changes geometry.
Clayton suggested that I do their 1.5" level kit in the front and add 2.5" springs in the back.

I am trying to avoid doing something, that then requires something else, which then requires something else, etc.

So the AirBags sounded like an easier option.

I have a Mojave which has a soft suspension with reduced towing capacity and added Air Lift 1000 bags to my rear springs. The bags really stiffen up the suspension and allow me to level out the truck with heavy loads. They don't increase the weight capacity but do make everything better when hauling stuff.

The best part is air the bags down and the truck is completely stock with great off road characteristics. Air them up now its a hauling machine. I haven't done anything radical that I will later regret.

I think this is the correct kit for the gladiator? I'd like to put a set in my Mojave as i will be adding an Alu-cab and tent, along with other camping gear.

Are you just using the schrader valves that come with the kit or something else?

I'd like to also use the bags to help level the truck when parked for the tent so i am planning on running the bags independantly. Not sure how I want to inflate them though...

Jeep Gladiator Another AirBag question vs replacing rear springs 1647647736610

I have a York compressor in my TJ which is what I tow with the Gladiator, so I will just use that.
I was surprised that these are barely over $100. Thats a no brainer.

Thanks for sharing, this is the path I am going to go

Go to post #116 here, I mention the kit # for a Mojave and show where I put the schrader valve on my rear bumper with some install tips.

I have a Sport S with alucab and hard shell RTT. I added the bags first, expecting to also add a Hellwig. After putting the air lift bags in, I'm completely happy with how it handles. The reduction in body roll is significant and I only run ~15lbs in mine. If you plan to have a tent, plumb the air lines separately (not into a T). This gives you a decent amount of adjustment when you're out camping to level the tent instead of using leveling blocks.

I installed airbags 3 or 4 months ago and they were fantastic, until my right one ruptured...

I am a getting ready to cut them out and am looking for slightly stiffer rear springs.

Did you go this route? I have under 4 weeks to get my truck ready to tow. I was hesitating about the max tow springs under the rear.
I want to actually do about a 1.5" lift, but need to prevent sag in the rear with my car hauler. I'll likely do a spacer lift, may put the rubicon springs back under the front.
I've seen 2 or 3 people use the air bags - so I may have to change my "never me" mind on them.

I've had a set in for awhile now no problems yet, if I was going through it again. I would look into a set that are slightly longer the kit for our JT's is short of spring length. I read the Ram 1500 are chosen by some. Or might look at "Air-ride" the company who's air bags are blue I've had about 15 psi in them since I installed them. It did tow better "not a heavy trailer" that I'll find out soon though. I should be picking up a HD 5x12 utility trailer soon.
Funny you mentioned a spacer lift too. I've got a set of 2in for the rear already I got before the air bags.

I will add to this. I put these bags in Jeep June 2021. They did well with the rear bounce but the cold weather last winter split them. I was running 5 psi all winter as I wasn’t towing anything. I did get a new set of bags sent up on warranty but won’t install them as it’s getting late in camping season for us.
