So today I installed the 4122 kill switch on my Gladdy. I'm old, and do no want to start over with the mods I have done to my baby!!!.
This mod is super easy and the switch is totally out of sight. I recommend this mod 100%_ and NO I am not being paid for this. Just trying to help my fellow Jeepers out!

Seriously though, I should probably look into this. In the first two years I had my gladiator, I had two theft attempts. One I happened to drive up on in my other car and they panicked and left and the other was an attempted carjacking. It wouldn’t have helped for the second one though.

With jeeps being stolen in our area all the time, any I mobilizer is a great idea but without a good hood lock you are only adding seconds to the thief’s time Just saying better safe than sorry

Not down on it, but it's such a common thing and so widely known - and the thieves targeting Jeeps know all of this stuff. It's so easy to bypass.

You'd be amazed with the modern tools thieves carry - and relays are so bloody common there's no "starter relay" it's just a relay that will fit many other cars and other spots in other cars.

If I was a thief, I have a small bag of relays that will replace almost any relay in a Jeep. The diagnostic tools can be had so cheap, and you can get subscriptions for bypassing security as our Canadian friend pointed out - the scanner company sells them!

It will deter the casual person, but not someone who steals Jeeps for a living.

Is it worth doing? Probably, but it's only going to deter those who jack cars at random, not those targeting Jeeps.
All one has to do is use Google and find what people are using as theft deterrents. And they'll get pictures, too.

So....in other words. It's best not to do anything? Correct? Just let them take it? I'm wasting my money?

I'm of the opinion that if you want to stop someone from stealing your jeep you need to customize your theft deterrent.
If you use regular off the shelf security measures, it will be easy for a knowledgeable thief to steal your jeep.

A wireless relay is fine, but you should NOT put it in the fuse box. You need a novel method to break the circuit to the ignition, that can be many things, but not some off the shelf wireless relay in the fuse box.
To do it right will take some thought and some work to get it installed so it isn't obvious to a thief.
All you really need to do is foil the car thief's initial plan, make it require time to figure out.

There are lots of ideas on how to do this on Chargers (same system as our Jeeps).
I doubt any thief worth their salt would spend a lot of time just to steal your gladiator when they could just go on to the next target.

4122 is nothing more than just a piggyback DP relay with a hidden activation switch that open/close the SP relay circuit.

Simply pull that SP relay, shorting the line/load legs with a wire will defeat it. Even a pocket knife cutting through just the insulation jackets of the wire pair will do it too. And, it's even easier if they have a spare factory relay lol.

Imo. Creating your own design is the way.
