I was planning to get a 2 door. I don’t need a lot of cargo space and planned to remove the rear seat anyway.

Will I wish I’d gotten a 4 door?
No, if you don't need the cargo space, and it's just you and one other person, you won't regret not getting the 4 door. All the other comments are spot-on. The 2 door accelerates better because of it's weight, it's easy to park, rides rough, it's a slightly noisier with the back seat removed, but my wife and I think it's a blast to drive. I put a dog bed in the back for our lab to lay on during road trips. I added a couple of foldable storage boxes too so that things don't fly around.

People bitchen about the noise of a 2.0 don't know what LOUD is.............
Drive one of these 6 hours or more straight.
Yes, the 2.0 turbo is the loudest Jeep engine in the last 25 years and it's not a "neat" sound, not a deep rumble, but it's really not bad. I can't hear my wife's 2.0 over the sound of some of the vehicles that pull up next to us in traffic.

For this one - I take out the hearing aids -

My son came to visit wearing a t-shirt that had a rating scale like you see on Amazon or Yelp or Google reviews -
The subject of the 0 to 5 star review was "People". It had 1 out of 5 stars.
We brought it up once and I got his feelings on the topic pretty quickly.

It's not so much about it being loud, it's more about it sounding like crap. Lol

I've seen that shirt advertised! Haha!
It's funny because I'm an easy going guy. I don't really dislike anyone so I'm very fortunate. But I love road trips with just me, my wife, and our lab. 😀

Both my wife and I have big lifts and 37s. Hers is a 24 my JTOD is a 22. Night and day difference in power, I have the diesel she’s got the penta crap. Mine rides better on the highway and hers can turn circles around my poor radius.

Not much more to add than what's already been said about the 3.6 engine. I have it in both my 2016 Wrangler (4 dr) and my 2024 JT Rubicon. Other than having the dealer replace the thermostat the first week in the JT (it was a 2/24 build that sat on the lot and waited for me until 1/30/25), no problems, no unusual sounds or anything. I do have to change the thermostat on the JKU since it periodically only heats up to about 170 degrees and then throws out an error code. But for being nearly 10 years old, I can't complain.

I did hear the 2.0 engine in a Wrangler at the dealership make some noise but they used to "quiet" noisy motors in the past with some added insulation under the hood and firewall. Yea, a cheap fix but then that would cost Stellantis a few extra dollars that they don't want to spend and it really doesn't solve the overall issue.

We have had several JK and JL 4-doors, both 3.6 and 2.0, and several JTs, all unmodified. The current 2025 JLU Willys with Falken MTs is much quieter than the 2024 JT Willys with Firestone MTs. The JLU has a tighter turning circle than the JT, but longer wheelbase = better ride. People have asked me if the 2.0 L is a Diesel. Sound is the direct fuel injection, especially when cold. As others have said, the 2.0L eTorque feels quicker. My friend with two unmodified JL 2-door 3.6L Sports has experienced "death wobble". We never have had that on any of the JK, JL, or JTs. It's all a tradeoff, so pick what you need most. Of note, the 2025 JLU 2.0 just got a fault code indication at 6,000 miles of a cam sensor mismatch with the crank sensor. The 2024 3.6L got a misfire fault code at 8,000 miles. Both just recent, not serviced yet.

I’m thinking about buying a Wrangler. Anybody have one?

I’d appreciate any insight on ride, road noise and power.

I’ve read mostly praise for the 2.0 4cyl turbo. Seems like that should be plenty for a small vehicle, but interested in any and all opinions.

I have a 2d turbo 4 and love it. Never would have thought I would be driving a 4cyl. Jeep but it just felt so much better than the 6's I drove.

I have 37's on the stock Rubi 4.10's and even with these tires it is great. I returned the 4.88's I had because it felt so good.

It is also for sale if you are looking. Very clean well optioned 2019, in exception shape.

My wife had a JLUR soft top with XR package, we loved that thing. Unfortunately the 3.6 started to develop some issues to the point we had to cut our losses and get rid of it. But we are looking to get a 2 door with the 2.0. I don't think you can go wrong with one of those, depending on your usage like others have said.

Loud is easy to handle, put in some earplugs or just crank up the music. I would take the burble of an American crossplane V8 over a buzzy small displacement turbo 4 any day.

2 Jeeps and a BMW
We've had both. Currently DDing a 24 JLU Rubicon XR 2.0T. Better power vs the V6, we still have a V6 Jeep Grand Cherokee, too. We also have a Jb4 with a custom tune on it so it is pretty torquey now. The vast majority of the things are very similar like noise, etc. Wrangler is more fun to drive, turns way tighter and parks way easier. If the JT drives better with the longer wheel base really depends upon how it is equipped and modified. They are all solid axle vehicles. If you don't need the bed, the Wrangler just is more fun and easier to maneuver. If you can use a bed, love Jeeps like many of us do, and enjoy all other jeep things the Gladiator is still a great vehicle. But the Wrangler is more fun to me to drive hands down. The 4 door is far more maneuverable and a 2 door would be a wild difference.

If you want a quiet two door, buy a Bronco.
