Perhaps this has been covered elsewhere and I missed it, but I was browsing some new inventory my local dealer just got in and everything's looking about 10-12% higher than it was last month or so.

My 21 Mojave came with just about everything you can get on one and last Fall's sticker was about $62k.

Some of these new models are coming in with fewer options and they're stickered at $66k.

I guess with all other costs continuing to skyrocket in this economy it's not too surprising, but it's seems like a switch was flipped almost overnight.

The cheapest power wagon you can get is $66,000 up from the low $50,000’s just a few years ago.

There is more standard equipment now, there is also the half door option which is 5k. Prices have increased a few thousand from 21 to 23 though.

My 2008 regular cab long bed Power Wagon sticker for $42,000+. Ordered it. Company I work for had a deal on 1% under dealer which was good for $4,500. Chrysler had a $4,500 rebate going on. Trade in was $5,000. I paid $28,000 for it. :)

PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If that was an option new today I'd be in one, instead I'm in a 2022 Mojave which sure isn't bad! I've had a regular cab Tacoma and F150 and have always wanted heavy duty regular cab but never pulled the trigger.

Ya prices have gone up just recently on the 2022 models. My 22 Mojave has a base price of $47,260 and the new base price is $49,505. My leather seats were $1725 compared to now $1995, gorilla glass went up by $100, trailcam, $100, body colored fenders $300 .. etc etc It all adds up quickly. Even the paint color went up $100 unless you get white.

It's not just new, used is following the same trend.

I bought my Sport used with 19k on the ODO. $43k all said and done.

Jeep Gladiator Anyone Else Seeing Price Increases $5-6K YFIN7000[1]

It came factory with the hardtop, powerlocks/windows, LSD, 8 speed trans, basic tow package, alpine system, soft tonneau cover, and cold weather package. Price was meh, but it came with an aftermarket bumper, winch, sidesteps, lift, 35's, and fuel wheels I was going to buy anyways, so it worked out. "Traded in" a base model 4 door 2012 Tacoma Pre-runner (got sick of the 2WD and resale silver) for $20k (the same I paid 6 years ago!)

Now I can't find stock sports with less equipment for under 46k. Had to bump the insurance to include vehicle replacement assistance (up an extra 20% of the initial purchase)

As she sits now, one year later (got her July 6th) if anyone is curious.

2008 was the last year for the regular cab, long bed in a Power Wagon. Also the last year for a manual tranny too.

I very much loved that 3.5 gen power wagon. They’re like freaking unicorns now as much as they were back when I wanted one.

Mine is a 3rd gen. You have 3, 4, 4.5 and 5 gens. 3rd gen, 5 link front and leaf springs with the 5.7 engine and 4.56 gears. 4th gen, body change. 4.5 gen, 3 link front and coils springs on the rear plus the 6.4 engine and the 4.10 gears. 5th gen, body change.

When I bought mine. There was something like 1,800 made for that year. On the PW forum. We all thought that 2008 would be the last year for them because of the low numbers.

The 21 is my window sticker
The 22 is the sticker from one of the new ones my dealer just got in.
Mine has a few things that one doesn't, so it's a not a full apples to apples, but you can see the base price difference and go from there.

Factoring in a current 8.6% inflation rate, the base price goes to $48,506 and the total price goes to $67,576 on the 2021 numbers. Those 2022 numbers shown are not that unexpected.

I don’t see where the shocker is. During a normal year to year there’s usually a price modification. It’s been common knowledge from late summer early fall last year that interest rates were forecasted to go up, supply and demand issues were (and continue to be) an exponential problem and the economy was (still is) going to shit. There should be no surprise here.

When I made the final decision to get my 21 JTRD, I was working on a Saturday and was watching finance rates bump up .25% per half day. It took me 2 days to find what ended up being a unicorn here in Florida. The next closest inventory matching or coming close to what I was looking for was in N. Carolina. If I had ordered and it took 2-3 mos to come in I would have had a substantially higher payment due to the rates. As it turned out, the interest rate fluctuations I was seeing were due to speculation of the FED increasing rates, which didn’t actually become a thing until early 2022 where it was stated that there would be at least 6 consecutive bumps of unknown increments.

Where this trend reverses itself who knows. I feel we’re far from the bottom. Should you buy…only you can answer that question. Will pricing come back down…doubtful any time soon.

Where did you see the word "shocker"?
This was just FYI for anyone considering buying now, new or nearly new vs waiting for the 23's, which are apt to be another +9-10%.
Pro tip: It ain't the value of the product that's going up, it's value of your money that's going down.
