When I bought my used '21 Gladiator in June, Carmax asked if I wanted the free Sirius trial and I politely replied H... No and they didn't. Fast forward and took the Jeep in for service, upon returning it to me, I find the dealer signed me up. It took a couple of times to get the to cancel the service. I still get email, letters, offering a great deal. My big issue with Sirius is they have deceptive advertising as to how much you end up paying. $N month Plus Taxes Plus Fees. They know what the taxes and fees will be. Tell me.

2020 Gladiator here. Have no use for Sirius and have never even turned it on/opened the app/whatever you do since the day I bought the JTR. Right after the original subscription ended and the flurry of extension emails and such started coming, I unsubscribed from them. Haven't heard a peep from them since. I've not had any pop ups on the Uconnect and sure hope that doesn't start for me now.
Same - 2020 Gladiator - purchased new 6/2020. Used the Sirius occasionally for the free trial period and then did not renew. Received mail and email for about a year, now only occasionally. Everything I need access to is on my phone through Carplay via wireless bluetooth/wifi USB dongle. Older version of this one: https://a.co/d/9j6TX8J

I've only gotten 2 free "re-activations" over my 3 years and it never came back from the first pop up. So it's odd you are seeing it more than once.

For calls, you did it right to get off their call list. Also make sure your number is added to the national Do Not Call List.

For emails, mine does a 99.9% job of kicking them to spam, you can try blocking them too. If they are not going to spam, take the extra click to report it or move it to the spam/junk folder. This helps their AI learn to move future ones.

For mail - it is kind of counter intuitive but I have had luck by going into my account, registering if you haven't, and then changing all of the contact information.

For example, your name is now Spam Junk and you live at 111 No Street Drive, Imagine City and then put in a real zip code and accept whatever "valid" address they give you. Make sure it's not a valid looking address. For example the one I put in accepted it with no street numbers. If that isn't working, put their own HQ address in.

it will cause all of the automated mail to get sent to a bad address and just return to them.
This is brilliant. Change all the contact address AND phone numbers to their own!

I saw a woman on LinkedIn that was getting tons of unsolicited PM’s that were sexually based. She said many would even give their WhatsApp usernames. She would keep them and send the last one to the next one that contacted her.

I'm wondering about that antenna, and more specifically the wires going into it.
It would be interesting to see if the GPS and the Sirius use the same satellites, or if they are different, and therefor could possibly be disabled separately.

I do occasionally use the weather RADAR, but the only thing I'd really miss would be if I lost Off-Road Pages.

Video from the earlier linked thread.
Seems like a nice guy. ?

I don't need either, I have a Garmin inReach for satellite rescue services that comes with insurance to pay for SAR costs and even helicopter rescue or medivac. I'm fine disconnecting the Sirius antenna entirely if it won't cause other problems.
I'm like 90% sure XM Guardian is cell based, it won't work off-grid and I don't think requires the satellite antenna for anything. So Garmin is still needed if you need/want off grid comm services, especially emergency/SAR services.

They really need a better handle on their marketing. I am getting offers to reactivate on vehicles I haven't owned in 3 years. The money they waste on mistargeted mailings and such is crazy.

I find it humorous when I get these mailings thinking of all the money they are wasting, and, with some simple list, cleaning strategies, save themselves tons of money.

There is nothing wrong with marketing at all, and in a perfect world, you would only receive marketing on things you are interested in at that moment in time. There is no sense sending me marketing on diapers since I am 60 and the kids are done! Now maybe adult diapers are in the future and I'll appreciate some coupons when the time comes :)

As for spam phone calls, it's not an issue at all on my Android phone. I simply set it to do not disturb and only allow calls and texts from people in my contact list. Everything else goes to voicemail and a spam folder in the message app. On the rare occasions I am waiting for a call from someone not in my contact list I simply turn off do not disturb and then back on once it is done. Nothing to it and Zero spam calls.

I have never had a problem with them. I call them two weeks before my subscription ends, tell them I want to cancel, they offer me the best 1 year deal, I accept. Lather rinse repeat. I get no phone calls, no emails.

I had them for about 10 years and went through that a lot. You left out the part where you have to speak to 4 or 5 different people to get the deal. I have never once got it done with person one or two. I quit because I'm not dealing with that any more. They have the business model of a mail in rebate, hoping you forget.

They just need to offer a plan that isn't always a "promotional deal" that you just so happen to qualify for today. If I could just get 4.99/mo forever I would still have it. Having it renew to $27/mo if you don't call in to haggle is stupid. I wish them to go out of business for operating like that.

I just ask for customer retention. So 2 people. I am not sticking up for them. I agree they have a shitty process. But as long as I get what I want from them I am fine.

I just use chat on their website. Super easy.

Haven't tried to tell them to f--- off through chat, so not sure how that'd work. ?

Yeah, their pricing is all over the board.
I finally just switched to Spotify for $9.99 a month and it does all I need.

And Spotify has better choices, is on-demand, you can build playlists to download. Plus there are podcasts and audiobooks.

It's a much better product.
