I dealt with that frustration on a previous vehicle; if there was a way for me to opt-out of their free crap when buying my JT, I would have done so, just so they would have not been able to say that they’ve done business with me.

I personally consider their service as “noise” that I don’t need. They’re just an aggregator, no elimination/addition of commercials, with a toxic sales/marketing strategy. I need to see if I can short their stock ( if they have any ).

The problem is they bundle the GPS antenna in with the Sirius/XM antenna. Unplug it, loose the GPS signal to the radio.

The thread below is from the JL side where a guy with a 7.0 radio disconnected the Sirius/XM antenna but the radio still picked up a signal and connected.

At the link below, the same guy went full send and pulled the power on the telematics module under the drivers dash knee panel but that disables everything, Sirius, GPS and any LTE function.

I actually had to dispute the charges on my credit card so they would stop charging me
I started using Privacy.com for recurring charges and memberships. You can set up a "credit card" for that specific service, set limits on what can be charged (like $5/month) and any charge over that will be declined. When you cancel the service you just log in and deactivate the card for that merchant and they are left with useless card data that doesn't go anywhere.

I would pay good money to anyone who makes an aftermarket antenna or in-line discriminator box that allows me to manually disable Sirius, GPS, and LTE separately. I don't see the need for LTE either, it's just a way to datamine and monetize customers.

Maybe someday Tazer will come up with something.

Sirius has been sending me mail for 10 years at this point. 3 fords, and soon to be the jeep. Never used it, never will.

I also would pay to just have a gps antenna. Not a fan of all the BS and screen popups, nor all the information peddling. Ugh

One good thing bout living in Alaska, we're too far north to get reception for Sirius. When I moved up here cancelling the subscription in my F-150 was an ordeal. Made a call to cancel and kept getting peppered with deal after deal to extend my subscription. Obvious the call room operator was reading from a script. I was literally screaming, "Do you not understand, your service does not work in Alaska! Why in the name of Zuess's butthole would I want to extend a subscription to a service that doesn't work where I live?"

I hate cold calls, I don't do it in my business because I hate when it gets done to me. Sirius and the rest can kiss my ass. I don't want an extended warranty, I don't care about my health plan and open enrollment... and get off my lawn!

I have a Sirius subscription in my retail store and it's way better than terrestrial radio. I figure it costs less than .75 a day so it's a no brainer to keep it. I only drive my Mojave on weekends and most of the time I don't want any music, new etc playing so I can't justify it at any price. Eventually they'll stop calling so I'm not going to stress about it.

Family plan with Spotify is cheaper, and you can download the music for offline mode, ZERO commercials. Amzn prime has something similar.

I have never had a problem with them. I call them two weeks before my subscription ends, tell them I want to cancel, they offer me the best 1 year deal, I accept. Lather rinse repeat. I get no phone calls, no emails.

My wife likes Sirius. Personally, I can do without it.

For years now, I have played the Cancel service but I'll stay if you give me the X price. This year, I didn't have to play that game, they just auto billed me the $70 a year price. Maybe they have learned from my past experiences.

I had sirius/xm on a 2005 Chevy PU and got the online service for computers and phone app thrown in. My wife has a 2019 Grand Cherokee with Sirius. Cancelled the subscription on my PU and plugged my phone into the PU. Two for one is a pretty good deal. Call them before your subscription expires and tell them you want to cancel. They will make you a hellava deal for the year. Do that at the end of every subscription and you will never pay the BS price they charge. I like SiriusXM and your phone app will have more channel choices than your vehicle.

I've bounced on and off with SiriusXM over the years. I've worked jobs where I was in a truck for 8+ hours a day before the existence of podcasts and smartphones, so it was great. I initially just let my SiriusXM cancel on my Gladiator, but I got an offer in the mail for 2 years of $5 a month, and went ahead and went for it. I actually really like the service and think that $5 - $9 a month is what it's worth (no way it's worth the like $20 they want), but the cancellation horrors you hear about are real and so bad that it gave me pause to sign back up. They try every single tactic they can from a bunch of offers to making you wait to transferring you all around.

It makes my blood boil everytime I see a service you can quickly and easily sign up for online, but when you want to cancel it you have to play the phone game for an hour.

I’ve yet to be successful at getting them to go away, but I tell them off with every car purchase I have made since 2014 (the first vehicle I bought with Sirius radio). Every time I hear from them I just ask, is it free yet? No sir. Good bye.

I like the service but it is over priced for my use. Hell between myself and the wife our 2 vehicles don't break 10k miles a year. And I really hate having to keep calling them to get a decent rate. They give me a lifetime 6 or so a month per vehicle I likely would sign up. But the pain of needing to call them and yell, argue and threaten to get them to cancel just isn't worth it. I can get music other places with less headache.

I am with you, I would be annoyed getting pop ups like that. No idea how to kill it with out replacing the head unit.
