The "harness" as it/s said here, with the relay and connectors for the tail light harness and the license plate harness only impacts license plate lights - nothing more.
The brake light in the tail gate comes into the tail gate at the rear of the bottom of the bed into the bottom of the tailgate and the wiring for that isn't touched.
The brake light system isn't touched at all other than the piece that goes between the factory connectors. That only "taps" the backup light wire and the ground wire.
When the back up lights are on, it energizes the relay coil and opens the contacts in the relay.
The rest of that "harness" connects only to the license plate light wiring that sits on top of the left frame rail near the spare tire heat shield.
So if you have a brake light error or issue, it's either a connection issue in that wiring that fits there, or unrelated.
Since it only interrupts the license plate lights and nothing else, the load change is so extremely minimal, it's not going to be seen or detected in any way. There's no sensing for those.

If you have an active code, I wonder if the BCM thinks when the license plate light is out and showing code when the circuit has no load when it should be on.
Naw, otherwise you could never turn them off via any type of system. You can unplug them and although not "legal", it's not going to get noticed.

Brake lights are controlled by the ABS, so if it's a brake light error, it's unrelated to tail lights or license plate lights other than perhaps a connection issue at the piece you plug in behind the left tail light.

That was my thought as well. I ordered all the parts to make a few.

The 12 pin molex is to be inatalled between the tailight and its plug.

Judging from the ebay listing, there is a 4 way connector that leads to the license plate lights?

Does anyone have pin out for this 4 way connector?

I will keep accumulating info on this thread for everyone to use.

Pin 4 can power the relay. (Or acquire source from the license plate light)
Pin 5 will trigger the relay off.

There's only two wires for the license plate lamps - white/db for the hot side, and black/gray.

I´d swear they have been on when backing up. I will check them when I get a chance. But my Tazer Mini is fully functional, otherwise, so it should be working. I swear I remember seeing them on last night.
Mine also does that at times. Every few weeks the horn will go back to honking 3 times when I leave the Jeep running and get out with the key. When either of those things happen, I briefly go into the menu just enough so it asks if I want the lightshow, and it goes back to normal. Seems to be just a strange glitch that comes up after not going into my menu for a while

Brake light works in all scenarios with harness, P/R/D lights on or off.

Weird that I had that code....

I saw that but the guy who sells the license plate light bypass has 4 way plugs.

I guess I will have to crawl under the Jeep with multitester.

This was the main reason I bought a Tazer and it was money well spent. Easily one of the worst design decisions with the JT.

Do you guys know source for general wiring diagram? Showing isometric view of it with connector pin outs in general for Gladiators?

Have for tail, not for the license plate harness connector on top of the frame........

5 and 6 are used for backup and ground for things like the Oracle plug and play connectors.

The problem is placement and angle of the plate lamps - they don't need to shine that high.
Straight out at the plate is fine.
