Battery Tender

I actually just started using Battery Tender’s solar charger via obd2 port since my work place‘s parking lot is open space under the hot sun. It has kept my battery topped off, I’m thinking of rerouting the wires directly to the main battery and attach the solar panel behind the rear seat headrest. The wiring came with a fuse and a diode so I think it’s sufficient to prevent any sort of mishaps.

Nice setup, i've been looking at that online. How is the solar panel mounted on the hood?

Vinyl sticker is laid down first then the panel is 3M VHB down on top of the vinyl sticker.

I added a charge safe magnetic trickle charger. You can drive off without worrying about disconnecting it. It also fit perfectly with the grill.

I use a Battery Tender all the time on mine. I made an adapter to plug into the 7 pin trailer plug in the back.

That is a nice fit. And I assume the charger is outside the vehicle where the plug is.

Correct. This kit is just the wire connector. It worked with an existing tender I purchased from Costco without any modifications.

I was using battery tender but then I just installed the NOCO 2D and just leave it plugged into the car now and it makes it a lot easier and it wasn't that expensive or hard to install.

I use this same setup. The bumper mounted plug I picked up allows for two items to be plugged in- so we use a block heater in conjunction for the winter as well.
Both the charger and the plug have heals up great! No issues here as well.

Very easy to do. Cut the end of the Battery Tender lead and wire into a 7 pin trailer connector. Leave the fuse in place on the Tender lead.

If you buy a 7 pin connector like the one below, when you open it up, it is pre-labeled for the pin outs. So, look for "AUX" and "GRD" molded into the plastic housing.

Since I back into my garage these make it such a breeze and should I forget the will just pop out. I don't charge every night but now just pop it on the weekends.
